Wedding Forum - Afterthoughts, what I would of changed....

now this does not mean that we did not have a great day, we had a wonderful day, but looking back with hindsight there re things i would have organised better, choosen better etc

item 1. booting my cousin of being a bridesmaid at the begining when she was being difficult and she convinced me she wanted to do it,or even better not asked her.
my cousin (MOH) and talked with her and she was adimant she wanted to do it, she was a pain the whole time, all i requested was that she pay for her dress (only £50 and £20 for her daughters, my mum paid £80 for mine for her wedding plus £30 for shoes £20 for shoes to by dyed correct colour and £30 for dress to be altered) i bought her shoes my mum altered the dress, paid for hair, and she turned up to my sten do for the meal and left 5 mins into the evening portion, and was difficult the whole time to me and my other bridesmaids.

I found out the day after 2 days previous to the wedding she had said to my mum that she quit and my mum told her straight she was not doing that to me :(
wish she had then i would not of had to deal with her drama and it would of been her letting me down not my fireing her, had been wanting to fire her for months before but because she was family and was close felt i couldn't.
Can you guess which one she is?

2. made a more profound list of shots we wanted and make sure the phototog knows there important to you, there are loads we really wanted but didn't get to, got forgotten in the crazynesss of the day. and aslo our photog grabed us away for artsy gazing into the distance shots and these leaning into a tree shots which to alot of people are lovely but i hate, and would much rather have used that time to get in a load of family and friends shots, including we did not get a single pic with my hubs biological mother and family, which we all really wanted :(


3. make my hair start a hour early and not give a damn about breakfast, it took way longer than i thought to get hair done, and only left 30 mins to get into my dress and a very stressed mother.

4. not have the hairstyle i had, i so wish i had just had it all up in a high bun, with maybe a little framing my face like hubs suggested instead of the annoying half up half down that i went for that hid all the beautiful detail on my dress, and also kept getting caught in the detail on my dress.


5. moved everything up another hour, took the band longer than i thought to set up and get playing, stated the first dance at like 8.30 instead of 7.30 i had planned.

6. not put so many statues on the centrepeices so that not so many dissapeared.

7. mentioned the guest book and selfie station in my speech, not even 1/4 of my guestbook got filled, its only 100 pages and there were over 100 adult guests, so atleast half should be filled. :(

Firstly I think you look beautiful.

Secondly thank you for writing this. Its really helpful to see what people would differently so some of the ideas can be incorporated into our day. I had thought about have my hair half up half down but have decided against it after seeing a photo of a friend halfway through her day and all her curls had dropped which was such a shame.

Thank you for writing this, we're currently planning our wedding and have just seen some venues today. I'll know to make sure that the photographer knows the best places to take photos and have some group shots. I'm still unsure about my hair though, and I think I'll be buying my bridesmaid and maid of honours dresses :) I know there'll be family members I'd rather not invite, but I know I'd rather not have any arguments or tension with my parents on the day. Your points will help us greatly when planning our wedding :)
