hi all just wondered if i was over reacting as with all the wedding stress i know this can be the case, but i went to see my florist about 9 months ago and she said it was to early to arrange anything so i went back 3 months ago bearing in mind i have already paid her £300.00 of which i think my flowers only amount to this and she said it was still to early im confused as to when to go because she is sort of a family friend i feel like its not being taken seriously ive only got 4 months till the wedding and i really wanted a final price and something set in stone but feel like if i go and ask again she might think im keeping on any advice would be greatly appreciated thank u ladies xx

Yikes how many flowers are you having? I should imagine that you would be able to have a rough idea what you want now and a rough price even if you can't finalise the total price until nearer the time. I can understand that she may not be able to give you a fixed price as flowers vary in price throughout the year etc but you should be able to decide what you want doing. I would have words.

I ended up having foam roses in the end so it worked out cheaper but when I did get a quote for my bouquet, one adult bridesmaid, one child and one flower girl posy, 6 button holes and 2 corsages it came to just over £200. That was for ivory roses with diamantes in them all and grasses intertwined in them. She was able to tell me a rough price on the phone from what I wanted etc so I'm surprised that your florist is being so funny about even talking about what you want let alone the rough price.

i think i might venture up there on saturday and have a little chat i think i worked out a rough quote from a friend whos recently got married that for what i want it would be roughly 280.00 so thats why i was a little concerned about paying anymore money but think you right i ought to go and see them x
Yeah there should be no reason why they can't sit with you and work out what you want. Maybe once you are there face to face they will take you more seriously than just trying to fob you off until later. They might not need to know the details but you do so you can budget for it and know what you are having.

I went and had a brief consultation nine months before and was told to come back 8 weeks before the wedding. I thought this was leaving it late as I also wanted a final price, but that's how it was. I'd go back to her 12 weeks before the wedding and explain that you need a figure for your budget. x

so perhaps i should leave it till after xmas then and not pay anything else oh god there are so many things to do when getting married lol x

I'd just ask her straight and explain you know prices can change, but how can she take money off you yet not know how much going to be,

see thats the part i cant quite put my finger on i think my biggest concern also is that when i was expecting i put a deposit on a pram and when i went to tell them i would no longer require the pram as i miscarried the shop had done a moonlight flit, not that i think this would be the case but when you are paying for so many things im a little dubious x

i ordered my flowers months ago. Def go and have a chat to her and tell her your concerns. At the end of the day you are paying her for a service. Hope you get it sorted x

Good Luck for Saturday! Put your foot down and be stern(ish) - Take your money and business elsewhere if she isn't willing to listen.
