    Hello beautiful ladies :)

I haven't been on this site in such a long time. Life suddenly got so busy and wedding planning came to a stand still. Now, there are six weeks to go and I can't believe how quickly the time has passed! Pretty much everything is organised and ready to go but I just have one little thing which is niggling at my mind.

I have a quick question about decoration our venue. I was hoping to have a nice relaxing day the day before the wedding but I've suddenly realised that someone is going to have to decorate the church and the reception venue. I was thinking I'd have a girly day without h2b but it doesn't look like it's going to work out that way. I'm just wondering how other people did it? Did it take you a long time to decorate for your big day? Did you do it together as a couple with the help of your bridal party? I just don't know how it usually works.

    Thanks everyone!

The lady who does the church flowers did all the church decoration for us and we paid a supplier (all our bridal party flowers/bouquets, buttonholes, table centers, chair covers and other venue deocration) who did the reception venue decorations so hubby and I didn't lift a finger for any decorating, it was all done for us.

If you can afford it I'd highly recommend getting someone to do it for you.

When my sister got married she also paid people to set up the venue decorations for her, the only thing that I helped her with was a little decoration in the foyer area of the manor house as that wasn't included in what she'd paid for but it didn't take us long as there were 3 of us (sister, me and her other BM) doing it and it literally was just hanging some lanterns on things and decorating the staircase with chiffon and bows so was no stress at all.

I would definitely look into someone doing it for you... The last thing you want to be doing on your big day is decorating the room....

I am having our décor provider setting up for us and her set up fee is £20 but we are spending £500 on other bits and bobs

    Good luck

If you have all the stuff, speak with your venue about doing it. They done ours, we just gave them the runners and table crystals, and they done that, the lady who we got to do the centre pieces done that as well. If not, it would be nice to have you and the girls to get it done, the more the merrier, then pop off and have something nice to eat or do something nice together after.

Myself, H2B, bridesmaids & groomsmen will be going to our venue the day before to set the tables & chairs up how we want them. I've got a supplier booked to do the tablecloths, runners, chair covers & sashes, once she has the tablecloths & runners on we just need to add the centerpiece's, favor's & scatter some crystals. We also need to set up the sweet table but with all of us there I wouldn't have thought it would be more than 1 hour!!

The only thing I haven't figured out is our centerpiece's!! They are bird cages with 5 battery tea lights in each, I'm wondering whether to turn them on the day before & hope the batteries last (I'd imagine they would) or try to talk someone into doing them on the wedding day!!

we are doing ours ourselves, but I want to do it myself, love all that sort of thing, I cant wait to hang up my DIY bits exactly where I want them and decorate it how I want it, but we having a bit of a festival style lots of things outside a little fairyland, a cosy corner and a chill out lounge n things. so not just set up a room. Our caterer though has offered to help with setting up tables if needed. But I have a bridal crew of 10 who I have designated help from each of them. Most of our bits can be set up the day before , but I will be out in the gardens at 6am on wedding day setting up ceremony in the woods, hanging dreamatchers and fairy lights.. and im REALLY looking forward to that part.. but that's all I doing on the day..then will be getting ready. Deffo ask some friends to help. It shouldn't take that long to do one room and sweet table if there is a couple or few of you :) tea light batteries would prob last , but only until the next day not until the evening . I would def ask someone to do this for you :)
