Well I can safely say I am glad I have joined this site, I have all these things I wanted to start planning but worried it was too soon as 22 April 2016 felt like ages away but having read down these posts I feel A LOT better about letting go and start planning.
I have booked my venue; my minister is going to officiate our wedding, make-up person and photographer booked.
CANNOT WAIT to go dress shopping but first I need to get a day where my sisters and mother can all come :o)

I wouldn't buy jewellery or lingerie at this stage.. there's so much time for your taste to change or for you to find something different. I would start looking at those things when I decide on my dress - I'm going to start trying dresses on around April/May time next year.

Hi ninaw. Congratulations on getting the ball rolling!
So far we have booked the church, venue, dj and bar. We have made some decisions on our catering and we have made bouquets (apart from mine) got things to make table decorations and book marked all the things I need to order for our invites. I have been to two different shops to look for dresses and there have been some strong contenders but not yet found the one. Just aswell I have plenty of time!

Welcome to the site. Congrats on engagement and getting started with your planning. I am super excited as my dress arrived in shop yesterday so going to see it and try it on on tuesday and pay the balance. So excited cause I am taking my daddy to see my dress for the first time. My advice would be to go with your heart with anything you want to do. if you want to look at dresses look at them if you find the one don't let others put you off by saying it is too early because you will kick yourself if it becomes discontinued and then can't get it. if you find anythign you love book it. I booked my venue in june of last year for my wedding in july 2016. in july last year i paid the deposit for flowers and then in august i booked my cake. bought my dress in november and this year i have booked the humanist the photogpraher and band. i won my chair covers last year also so that is another expense covered. do what you feel is right after all it is your day ladies don't let others tell you it's too soon or it's too much or too little or too extravegant. we have dreamed of our day since we were little let's have the day we have always dreamed of xx
