Going to try dresses on for the first time in a couple of weeks and I'm...

Going to try dresses on for the first time in a couple of weeks and I'm absolutely dreading it! I don't have loads to lose (about a stone) but I've not been exercising as much recently so feel dreadful. Feel like I'm going to look massive in everything ????

Hi just remember that they are 1 size smaller so that a size 10 is actually a high street 12 good luck . I'm going to start in a few weeks too :)

I thought that but the first one that I tried on fitted me perfectly and it pulled in all the places that I needed it too, need to. If the place is good they will know what styles suit you. I didn't think I could have a fitted dress but that's what I've ended up buying. I've still got a bit of weight to lose but now I have the dress I know my goal.

When my friend and I went for our dresses and put on 'the one' we both said even if we didn't lose any weigh we'd still feel fabulous. When you find the dress you might be surprised how much you love yourself in it no matter what

Aww don't feel down about yourself, it's such an exciting thing to do i promise! If you have a couple of weeks before could you not start going for walks on an evening? That will make you feel good inside which is more important. Please enjoy it....good luck!! Xx

I think it's important to be happy and feel good whatever you choose and whatever size it is. Wedding dresses are made differently that you can't simply worry if you need to go in a bigger size. What's important is that it looks good because you will want to look back and feel butterflies about the whole thing. Lots of people set their eyes on a dream dress but some styles don't suit all people so really just go with an open mind and I'm sure you will look amazing if you feel good and be positive about it. Enjoy it. Probably the most expensive dress you will ever buy lol

I thought the same, and I actually bought my dress on Monday. I plan on loosing weight before next year and the dress can be taken in two dress sizes. Just ask the question and they'll give you the answer. You will look beautiful no matter what x

The consultants will help find a dress that suits your figure and makes you feel good. X

I thought the same, i had a little girl 3 months ago so was dreading trying things on as i still have quite abit to lose, the only thing that bothered me was my arms, otherwise they looked great xx

Exactly the same as you, I kept putting it off! And kept thinking I'll loose the weight first as I know I won't like anything on! Oh my God was I wrong, I found my dress! Even though at the moment it's slightly too small for me (which is motivation for me to loose weight). I felt so comfortable and at ease during my consultation, didn't feel like I was being judged for being over weight. They found dresses very flattering for my figure, and tried me in sizes smaller and bigger than my current size so I could get the feel of different dresses. I tried on all different styles and fell for one I didn't think I would have. You will be fine don't worry about it, I worked myself up way more than I should have 😊 xxx

I think a lot of brides feel this way... I found that when I was trying dresses on I was so focused on the dress I didn't care about the weight. It was also really motivating to lose the weight I wanted to because I'd found the perfect dress. Xxx

I'm going to have a look this weekend and I'm dreading it. I'm worried it's going to be heavy and I don't wear dresses often. And also, I prefer to wear good bras I hate strapless so I'm fretting I'm limited

Whatever you do, do not look at the sizes!!! They are rarely your normal size and often 2 or 3 sizes up from your high street size. Just trust your consultant and let them take measurements and work out the sizes. I'm sure you'll look great :) xx

I was so worried about this too, but when you find the right dress you won't even care, I put one dress o and felt fat and gross, I put on another and felt like a goddess 😍

When I first went to try dresses on the first shop has nothing above a size 12! My baby was only 8 months old and I was a 14, I felt awful nothing fitted,in the second shop where I found my dress they had a lot more range and were lovely I got back to a size 12 and my dress fits like a glove no alterations needed if they are a good shop they will make you feel good and have a range of sizes

Then don't try dresses on till you feel better about doing it.
