Just looking for inspiration, what type of wedding dress do you like/ did you have?
This was mine
I didn't want lace. I had a dropped waste that flared out. Was not what I wanted at all but once I tried it on I felt amazing in it xx
I've got a ball gown style love it! Also when you go to the bridle shops it's the style of dress what suits all body types xx
I wanted a tight fitting mermaid dress and ended up with ahuge ballgown haha
Depends what style suits you. Good luck x
This is what I'm aiming for
I was set on a white/ivory dress pretty straight and nothing fancy - I went and tried them on and felt horrible. Tried this one and fell in love, had nothing but compliments on the day about the colour xx
I wanted a plain a line dress and ended up with this and lived it
Mine is totally different from anything else I've seen...here's hoping my h2b likes it too ... x
Princess style with sweetheart neck line we got married bonfire night and it was very cold so I wore a lace jacket which tied in really well (pic without it in comments)
I wanted a big princess ball gown but they just didn't suit my shape. The girls in the shop new what suited me and I ended up getting a more fitted dress which I loved
Xx
I wanted something with sleeves, quite plain and simple. Ended up with a sweetheart aline gown with lots of sparkle and lace. Totally different to the ones I picked myself to try on! Trust the people in the shop! It's what they do! I would never have picked my dress myself and can't wait to wear it next year!
This was mine 3 weeks ago, i loved it so much and although it was a light dress once the dance floor filled up I was so so hot and felt i couldn't dance as much as I wanted
This pink number by Mojgan Bridal Couture I could sit, move and dance in it easily - was so comfy I didn't want to take it off. And I could pee by myself ;-)
Nothing like I wanted. I wanted straps. Went shopping, my mum picked this out so I tried it on and fell in love. Bought it there and then. X
I went in looking for simple lace dress and came out with a ball gown, it felt amazing and was surprisingly easy to move in. Good luck! X
I only tried on a few dresses but fell in love with this! X
This was my dress. I got married 2 years ago. I fell in love with it
This is mine. I get married in 2 weeks
I didn't want a white dress, I'd have liked a darker colour but went for lilac, it was a challenge finding alternative colours though!..x
I went in with a really specific idea in my head - other than shape it's pretty much everything I said I didn't want. The people in the shop really do know what they're doing and it's so worth being open minded. Everything I tried was 'lovely' or 'nice' but nothing gave me that feeling everyone talks about! I got to the point I thought I'd just have to pick something that was nice and have done with it and the lady just told me to try it - it was all the feels I expected! 😍
This was mine completely different to what I wanted but loved it as soon as I put it on
First dress I tried and fell in love with it
I wanted relatively plain A line satin with sleeves and NO SPARKLES (think Grace of Monaco.)
Came out with a Lave princess strapless (though i used a jacket to give it sleeves) - at least it had NO SPARKLES
I fell in love with my dress 7 yrs before I got married I tried on a few other dresses but always liked the first dress and saved over a grand in price been married 3 yrs this November
This is the back of the dress
This was mine!! It's a Mori Lee and was so comfy! I know people complain about the dress being heavy and giving stomach ace sometimes. Mine was heavy but it was comfy so it didn't matter! Loved the swish on the dance floor too!! Felt like a princess. All I knew when I went was I didn't want lace and I wanted strapless.
This is the dress I tried on and fell in love with suits my shape and I feel amazing in it! Back of dress in comments.
I had a customised dress you can't really see but it had Swarovski crystals all sewn into it we had a tipi wedding so kept it float and not princess dress xx
i wanted a sparkly princess dress ended up getting a princess dress with really nice lace detail and a few sparkles lol i knew i didnt want pearls or buttons as my mum as a fear of them and tbh im not a fan of pearls either this was my dress so comfy x
All I knew was I wanted strapless, this isn't what I thought I wanted but fell in love as soon as I saw it x
This was my dress xx
This was my dress, always thought I'd have a ball gown, but this suited me so much better as I'm quite short xx
Mine :) for our intimate Xmas eve wedding xx
I thought I knew what I wanted - poofy, bling, etc. And they did look nice, but I wasn't wow'd by any of them. Then the lady in the shop asked if she could choose me a dress. She brought it in and it was everything I thought I didn't want but I tried it on to humour her so's not to be rude. I was just open mouthed and speechless! I couldn't stop looking at myself in the mirror for about 45minutes! It was the most beautiful dress I had ever seen! Honestly, listen to these women who work in these shops - they really know their stuff!
This was mine x
This was mine a nice sweetheart neck line then bit of sparkle on the front then all big to the floor :) i tried on about 20 dresses before i found mine you dont often end up with what you thought you would as they are all different on x
Was way too old to pull off the 'princess' look so more fitted for me.
This is my dress I had no idea what I wanted other than to feel comfy and beautiful and this did both I tried on about 5 dresses but as soon as I put it on I knew
I wanted sleeves as I was 51 and didn't want to look like mutton dressed as lamb but ended up with this!
This was mine. Justin Alexander
Your dress will be determined by your personality, height, body shape and style of wedding theme as well as what fabrics you like and dislike. Enjoy trying them on and you'll know which one is for you. X
I am going for a House of Mooshki tea length dress. 😊 I don't want a huge dress with a long train because it will just frustrate me and ruin my day because I'm constantly moving the dress out of my way. Not decided on the style of the dress just yet but I'm really looking forward to going to try the dresses on!
I have chosen a wine red taffeta ball gown with black pearl details and black embroidery it's beautiful and super lightweight due to being taffeta instead of satin so I will be able to dance and quite possibly jump around on a bouncy castle too 😁
I designed mine myself and had it made x
1984. THE dress for me after trying on a few in different shops. Totally the opposite to.what i imagined I would have
Always thought I'd go for fishtail and lace- how wrong was I, fell in love with Ronald Joyce- Orleans. Had to attach full length picture in comments so you could see all the detail. Classic and elegant. Oh and it HAD POCKETS wish I could do it all over again.
My wedding dress
Think mine was Mori Lee...originally wanted a fitted dress but I couldnt help myself and tried on some big dresses...then that changed everything. The bodice finished passed my waist to make me look taller. Loved it
50's style, with full skirt. Married in May past. Would do the day over in a heartbeat. Decided a few yrs ago I would never be in a full length dress as 50's style suits me better. Could never understand people who said they LOVED their dress.... I do now
I couldn't find one I liked completely so the bridal store I went to redesigned and altered the top half
I wanted sparkly mermaid... went shopping and tried on a fair few but fell in love with this one as soon as I put it on, even though it wasn't what I had in mind!! More pictures in the comments 👰🏻
I'm not a fan of shoulderless dresses. They don't suit everyone.
But each to.their own and what you feel.wonderful.in
I had no idea what I wanted apart from I thought I wanted lace... I stuck to the lace bit after trying 100's of dresses on but the style I chose shocked everyone including myself!! not what I thought I wanted at all but I loved it as soon as I saw it :-)
This was mine I felt amazing. I knew I wanted princess. First dress I tried wish I could wear it again x
His was mine I loved it very heavy and big but I felt like a princess all day xx
I thought I wanted a full gown with lace, but I fell in love with this enzoani Hollywood dress. Full gowns didn't suit me at all. You will know when you find it. X
This is the one i want x
This was mine from eBay.
I had absolutely no idea what I wanted and I'm not a girly girl at all so dresses really aren't my thing but felt amazing in mine didn't want to take it off. You do know when it's the right one
I ordered this dress from a picture. Put a deposit down for it and everything. That's how sure it was the one for me. Oh and it was due to arrive 10 days before my wedding
I went for a-line....was so flattering on.....i felt amazing in my dress xxx
I thought I wanted a ball gown style but i've actually gone with slim backless style x
Tight fitting flowey train with lace straps and a low back
I'm getting a steampunk wedding dress there absolutely beautiful xxx
