We hope that you can join us,
And respect this one request.
We want you to relax and let your hair down,
So no children we feel is best.

No need. Just put on the invites that children are not invited.

This isn't for the save the date, that just gives the date of a wedding. As for the invite, you don't need a cutesy little poem or ''No children'' on it. You WRITE the names of who are invited, and make no mention of children,no children's meal options on the RSVP. Most people will get the idea

Maybe the original poster wants poem ideas rather than being told "just write names" etc.

The day of our wedding is coming, and we really want you there. Unfortunately your little brat, is too much for us to bear. So come along and enjoy our day, but dump the kids and be on your way. xx

We put something like this as we only had immediate family children!
"Due to numbers, we can only invite a small amount of children. We thought you'd enjoy the day/evening off too" x

I made up a wee poem and put it in with my save the dates. I have asked for no under threes:
Our special day will come round soon, so a little request from the bride and groom. We want you to enjoy the day, without having to watch the little ones play. So if your wee one is under three, we kindly ask you to come child free.

We just put on our save the date that it was an adult only event. Blunt and to the point! X

We'd love to say the little ones can join in with the bride and groom, But unfortunately the venue simply doesn't have the room.
