Hi all. Looking for suggestions of reception venues in/close to Manchester City Centre. Not wanting to pay a massive room hire fee though as I'm on a 2.5k budget!
What type of venue would you prefer? I know the town hall is taking bookings (on Albert Square) but i'm not sure of price. Is it a 2.5k budget for all your wedding or is that the venue budget?
Whole budget. Apart from my dress.
Think the town hall was a bit steep x

Look at town halls, restaurants and bars. Some places don't charge to hire the room as they make money back off drinks. My reception is a room in a reds bar and grill, the room is absolutely beautiful and it only cost £100 to hire. It's definitely doable, you just have to shop around abit, don't be afraid to be a bit cheely and haggle. Good luck xx
Following as I'm looking for this too, everywhere is so expensive, or totally not what we want!
Have a look on this link... it is for venues all in the city centre, bars etc. Most have a minimum spend, so say £2k and if your wedding party doesn't spend this much there, you may have to pay the difference. BUT, that might not be 100% true. Some of these look nice and not too expensive. x

I'm having the exact same trouble with Manchester, it seems to be so much more expensive than most places! And I'm particularly struggling as we need outside caterers. I've found a few sports clubs around - Didsbury RUFC looks decent but may be a little far out. Have a look at barca http://barca-manchester.co.uk/room-hire/

We have planned our reception with Duttons Manchester in Albert Square. They have been more than fantastic, helping with seating ideas, decoration ideas and some really good food options also. I sat down with my Aunts and had a tasting session not that long ago and we really loved the food also! I wish I had other aspects of planning a wedding go as smoothly
