We're doing all the food, both wedding cakes, all the stationary, all the flowers, table decorations, I've made my daughters flower girl jewellery (only cause I couldn't find anything I liked lol), I'm doing my own make up and hair as well as the other females, I've found my self buying reduced things and adapting them to make it work with the colour scheme, we're doing a diy photo booth too. Doing all this will save an absolute fortune.

I have been able to do stationery bouquets and few other things. Food is going to be a big cost as our venue came with a set caterer. So the other stuff I am looking at getting cheaper.

DIY makeup, favours, table decs, bouquet, playlist instead of DJ. Wore shoes and jewellery I already had. Mum made my dress. Didn't bother with a cake, bridesmaids or best man. Saved a fortune!

Hi Helen can do invitations, save the dates, flowers, table decorations, venue decorations, food, Wedding cake, do your own makeup and hair. There is a wedding range in Poundland invitations and things there. You buy your dress at a Wed2b store the prices range from £99-£599 I hope this helps good luck :)

I'm doing my own stationary but getting everything else in as I don't want to be rushing around on the morning setting up myself. If you look around you can get most stuff cheap yourself like flowers, centrepieces, photo booth etc but depends what your timings are like on the day x

We've not really done anything DIY so far, but the centrepieces we wanted seem to be cheaper hired from our florist than done ourselves, I suppose it depends on your suppliers :) I really couldn't be bothered to DIY things, lol although the cake we will buy from m&s and do our own decorations on it because that's lots cheaper than having them made by a supplier.

We did our own miniature bottles of whisky, cake topper and invitations. Saved about £60 on the cake topper itself.

I made my own; dress, shoes, bridesmaid dresses, groom's waistcoat, groomsmen accessories, bouquets, buttonholes, tablecloths, centrepieces, order of service, placecards, favours, decorations, and invitations. My husband did the evening buffet/hog roast. It ALL worked out cheeper. That way we were able to afford our dream venue which included purity much everything else in the package.

I made menus, place cards & seating plans with a normal printer & mounted everything on red card from a craft shop. Loads cheaper than a supplier x

We DIY'd our table decorations, room decorations (church and reception ) we did our own makeup , seating plan invites and thankyou cards... Got my dress from bradgate brides outlet section so the dress cost £599 instead of hiring a fancy car my uncle has a nice sports car so he drove me, my aunt did my nails and a friend (who is a hairdresser) did our hair also a friend did our photos which cut cost down ... All in all the most expensive thing was the reception venue with the food but it was 100% worth the effort if doing it our selves it felt so much more satisfying

Wow, where do you start, you can really do so much yourself. I have used ImagineDIY to make my own invitations, made my own wedding favours of Elderflower gin and decorated the bottles, dried my own rose petals so everyone has confetti. Making my own napkin rings, using organza tied in bows for the church pew ends instead of flowers. good luck, look on pinterest and amazing what you can make with a bit of imagination and creativity. xx
