UKbride Member Request 30 Nov 2020

covid

Hello, my fiancé and I are getting married on 12th December 2020, Winters Barns at 2pm. Obviously with being put in tier 3 our reception has now been cancelled. Looking for any ideas as to what we can do afterwards to save going straight home??

Could you go find somewhere to go for a mini moon.. Couple of days away? See if a few family members want to join? X

What area are you?

Could you extend your photos and drive to a place that means something to you and have some more photos? X

Tier 3 be no meals anywhere but takeout.

How far from a tier 2 are you? Perhaps you could go there for meal and night away? Or something at home?

Wedding twin! We're tier 3 too, too far from any tier 2 areas and we're not getting married till 4pm, so it'll be too dark after that to do anything outside, so we're just going home and ordering a takeaway.

Book a restaurant, youd be on separate tables anyway at the reception . That's what we have done and they have been brill, even allowing me to put decorations up and on the tables. Enjoy your day x

We were due 22nd Dec but we cancelled back in summer. Way too complicated with parents a distance to travel etc.. at moment. Good luck in your planning xx

Maybe a nice wintery picnic hamper (if it's not raining) warming mulled wine or cider etc. Might be cute for the photos as well with a nice picnic blanket and throws to keep you toasty.

Booking a restaurant obviously isn't possible. You could create a socially distanced Park picnic with portable gas heaters? That way you can have some prosecco and even some cake?

Take a picnic and blankets and find somewhere nice to go

Can you stay somewhere nice for the night

No where will be open in if been put in 3. And sure you are not allowed to travel out of the area you are in to go for a meal in a area that is 2.

I’ve seen company’s advertising the hire of like blow up party igloo/ snow globes kinda things and they do all different packages, with tables and chairs or speakers etc. I’m not sure with the tier restrictions who would be allowed in but at least it would be different then just sitting at home in front of the tv eating takeout.
But I can’t remember any company names sorry. Hope you find something special to do 🤞🏻

So sorry you are in this situation.

However if your reception has been cancelled and you have a little bit of money spare.... why not do something just you and your husband. Companies where I live rent out spas and pods for your back garden for 2/3 days. Could you maybe do that? Order dinner from your favourite place or somewhere that is delivering. Some champagne ... into the hot tub and watch the stars all night ❤️
