Costs of rearranging

I’m sure many of you have had to rearrange your wedding. We’re in the process of rearranging our wedding from May 2021 to May 2022 as we want to try to make sure all our family and friends can attend. I just wondered what additional costs, if any, other couples have had to pay when rearranging. We have wedding insurance which covers COVID but it doesn’t cover postponing because only 15/30 people would be allowed to attend. Have all your suppliers charged to rearrange or charged for annual increases (understandable if they’re a small business but really unfortunate for the couples) or have they honoured your original prices? Thank you

I have only had my flowers charge for price increase, no one has charged to move as i have gone from may 2021 to june 2022 for the same reason.

We've been lucky, no price changes from our venues, amendment fees waived and even the registrar waived amendment fees. I think people realise this has been a tough time and are being wonderfully lenient 😊

We were really lucky and the only thing we had a price increase on was our cars, but he still did it at a reduced price to what it should have been for the new date and he waived admin fees to change date

I’m a wedding videographer and definitely not increasing prices or charging anything for couples who have had to rearrange their big day. It’s a stressful enough time for couples without adding extra costs to the mix.
Had Covid not happened then the day would have gone ahead and the couple would have paid the original price so, to me, it’s only fair to honour the original price.
That said, for suppliers who need to source products, such as flowers, an increase is perfectly acceptable.

Ours all rearranged for free and with ease. The only thing we did do was pay our photographer half his money (we'd already paid a deposit) as he's had no work. I have heard a few horror stories but mostly vendors recognise how horrid the situation is.

We have rearranged our wedding from June 2021 to June 2022 and all my suppliers have rearranged to the new date without charge and honoured all the prices originally quoted x

I’ve had to pay £1000 for the venue cost increase between the years, 70 quid to move the registrar, 250 quid as my wedding is now on a Sunday, and the caterer wants an extra 5 pound per head to cover price increase x

We rearranged from April 2021 to April 2022 and our venue charged us a £250 change the date fee. All of our suppliers changed for no extra cost, although our photographer's price has gone up a couple of hundred. She offered to find us a different photographer with a lower price if we wanted, but we were happy to pay as I understand how much her business has struggled this year.

Iv changed mine may21-may22 and had absolutely no additional fees from any of the companies we are using. Everyone has been so understanding xx

Our wedding day is June 2021 and as of yet got no plans to move it unless we are still.in this situation and can only have half the people there then we will move it. Been planning this for nearly 2 years should be getting excited now but I'm worried we have to postpone

Cost us an extra £1,500 from this august to May 2021 but looks like we will have to move again to the November

UKbride Member 30 Oct 2020

I haven’t had to pay any extra charges. Moved my wedding from August 28th this year to April 30th next year

I run my own wedding hire business and prices have stayed the same, I have honoured any prices and commitments we made before covid. I have luciky enough managed to rearrange all my couples to thier new dates, thinking of all you couples out there and all the best guys and to all fellow suppliers and within the industry x
