registrar

In the process of postponing our wedding to next year. Pretty much all our suppliers have penciled us in as they are available for the date we want. For some reason the phone number for the registrar has been disabled and will only respond to emails. I have been waiting a few days for a reply but still nothing. Very frustrated. Can anyone recommend what we could do if worse comes to worse the registrar cant do our new date? I still want the ceremony but obviously without a registrar it can't be legalised. Its so stressful this whole postponing malarkey just lucky all but 1 of our suppliers are available.

Just do the legal bit when you can. We had a blessing and a legal ceremony and in fairness it was the ceremony that felt more special not signing a piece of paper

You’d have to do the legal side on another day. Or get a celebrant who potentially might be classed as legal - they’re looking into that.

I had the same issue and was waiting for about a week between responses from them. If your original date is coming up soon put that in the subject title and if you really need an answer soon put **URGENT** in the title- they responded very quickly after that. Good luck, I know how stressful it is having just been through the same thing.

If it makes you feel better, it took our registrar a few days to reply via email as they weren't taking phone calls either xx

Can't you book a new date through the gov website? That's what I did and they just transfered my payment over to the new date xx

They are really busy and ours said they would reply within 10 days.

UKBride. If you knew that your supplier portal how no information what so ever about when your supplier's contracts are coming to an end, any information on how to cancel or even a button to cancel. What could you do differently?

In the same boat...original date was 12.09.20,now changed to june next year. Registrars only answering to emails, taking 3working days at least. Fingers crossed for you!!

we have one date for our big celecbration with family and friends next year. Due to having to postpone for a 3rd time we have a small registrar ceremony with only 2 witnesses to make sure we are legally married. We have the registrar ceremony before the religious one in our church with friends and family.

The registrar took forever to answer our emails, but they did eventually come back! Hopefully they'll answer you soon :) x

Registrars have postponed their booking acceptances except for emergency weddings due to ill health until further notice which is very frustrating x

Worse comes to worse you can ahead with the ceremony as planned with out the legal side (up side anyone can do it which is very meaningful, I had my twin. Then on anotber day pop to the registry office make it legal.

It's what my wife and I did, on the legal day we went and had a nice lunch. it also works out way cheaper to!!

I did the legal part and the ceremony on different days. We had someone called Samantha Tsiga as our celebrant and she did an amazing job x

Thats because the registry is closed and they are working from home. But I would find a local officient just in case...
