Music

Can anyone please give me ideas for songs to play. My mind has gone blank. We want songs that will keep people on the dancefloor. Thank you

We have asked the people attending to give us one of their favourite songs per invitation to mix it up a bit.

Are you having a DJ? Or doing it yourself? You could always ask your guests what they want. That's what we've done x

Ask your guest for suggestions either in advance or write something down as the come in...if you have a DJ I would juat tell him to play wedding reception party song, if he's good he'll know how to keep the dance floor full x

I tried to keep people on the dance floor, loads of party songs picked and allowed people to pick their own with cards on the tables but still didn’t have as many people as I wanted on the dance floor

It’s really hard to please everyone if mixed ages , groups and just taste .

But here a few of the songs played ( some cheesy ) that got people on the dance floor despite the mixed crowd but asking guests for any requests -provided you like them , can also help :

All night long -Lionel Richie
Dance with somebody - Whitney Houston
You’ve got the love -candi Stanton
Love shack -b52s
If you are not opposed to mj ethically then
Billie Jean -Michael Jackson
Jump around -house of pain
Summer of 69- Bryan Adams
Superstition - stevie wonder

Me and my brothers made a list searching cheesy 90s disco and then I asked guests to put suggestions on invites. Remember tho if allowing guests to suggest music to tell DJ strong dislikes so he won’t play anything you hate!

If you have booked a decent DJ they will read the dance floor, the audience and will know what works best. By all means give a list of tunes or a style you like... but you pay for a decent DJ and they will know their trade :)

90’s/00’s pop/punk music is pretty good as well as party dances

My step dad has offered to make a playlist so i have asked for a good variety of crowd-pleasers and floor-fillers mixed in with the stuff we like and some for the older guests too.

Spotify have great playlists to choose songs from we went on there downloaded playlists and chose our songs that way off the most popular. Best thing we ever did x
