Has anyone brought a supermarket m&s wedding cake for their wedding? thinking of doing it to cut costs down.
I got the iced fruit one from Asda, don't know if it's still available but worth a look, it was two tiers and so moist x
My daughter getting her cake from M&S for her wedding in March
Solid 90% sure my friend did and she did some extra piping herself...she was also looking at keeping the cost down...I don't like fruit cake tho so I can't tell you how good it was 😂 the icing was nice tho
I did fir my first wedding, everyone asked for cake makers details x
Yes it was perfect, just added our own choice of decorations to it. Lot less hassle and much cheaper than most quotes we had. 😊. All the best on your wedding day 👰 🎩
We're doing the M&S naked 3 tier cake for our wedding. Heard loads of positive reviews about it xx
My friends had an M&S wedding cake. It was the best cake i have had at a wedding (including my own) x
We had doughnuts! Bought a Perspex cake stand from amazon and 100 Krispy Kremes 🙂
Our M&S 3 tier pork pie cake went down a treat!! Such a good option and we also had Connie and Colin caterpillar cakes for the kids and those who wanted cake not pork pie. Totally recommend!! They're huge too, a lot bigger than I expected x
Mine was from M&S, was a lovely cake. Couldn't fault it
Yes we did sorry got not photos but it was absolutely lovely and by the time you’ve dressed it no one knows any different
Yes, got the florist to do flowers for it and it looked beautiful. Also had the Colin and Connie bride and groom.
I did and the cake itself was amazing we did the different sized tiers which you can choose the type of cake etc that you want, just a word of warning don’t have the top tier as fruit cake as ours was too heavy for the sponge to hold and had to display it differently to how we wanted! It was an amazing cake though and every piece got eaten!
A friend did and it was lovely. Just added our own flowers
I’m getting married abroad but having a party when home and will be buying a single m and s cake and decorating it with fresh flowers to keep costs down...

I had an ASDA fruit cake dressed for cutting as we also had cupcakes it was really pretty and very nice according to the hubby. We also debated the m&S ones the lemon cake is so nice from their wedding range
Yup. We did. Decorated it ourselves too with items purchased at our local bakers x
Yes I then bought lots of sugar/edible flowers from the internet and decorated it myself. A lot cheaper and more personal.
We had their white chocolate one, it was amazing! All our guests loved it too, they are highly recommended, good luck with your big day 💍
Mine was m and s. Everyone loved it!
We bought a selection of morrisons cakes, triple choc, catterpillar, minon, rose decorated victoria sponge and a few of their best range ones. Cost us £40 and fed over 150 guests. Everyone loved the variety!
Yes but sorry no pic and I planned on put our glass heart with Mr and Mrs on and date but ended putting a me 2 u bears topper on Intend x congratulations on your up coming wedding x
My best friend did she had some flowers put on to jazz it up!! Fair play it was lovely x
Yes! Got a white chocolate icing one. Would highly recommend
Sue Murray look how good they all look!
My wedding cake was unintentional M&S. My original cake baker took ill at the wheel of her car on the morning of my wedding so I had to find another cake ASAP. Only place that has celebration cakes available was M&S and I have to say for a shop bought cake it was delicious.
My mum bought me a lovely cake there when I got engaged, delicious! You can also get them to make you the cake part and you can take it to someone else to decorate if you had someone in mind
We were going to have the cake from m&s ordered the trial cakes and didn’t like them so might be worth trying before you buy?
My mum has ordered my cake from M&S and my fiance has his heart set on the cheese cake. I did find a cheaper one that was actually topped with cheddar heart.
I had an M&S cake. It was lovely. Looked more than what I paid for it and I have to be honest, hands down the nicest cake I've ever tasted, even the guests said how tasty it was x
Kerry Trinder looks like m&s do good wedding cakes xxx
Thanks for all of your help everyone. when looking at the pictures on the m&s website you can't visualise what they look like. but the pictures you have all supplied will help me a lot. thanks.
Yes my friend did it and you couldn't tell once it had flowers and was on a stand x
Ive been told by so many people to do this im considering doing it
I am getting married December this year and was looking at getting a m&s cakes xc
We had M&S cakes and decorated them ourselves, Easy order service, easy collection. And was delicious. Heartily recommend 😀
Molly McEwan look at the comments, some good ideas x
Definitely go for it, their cakes are amazing. Might be biased cos I work for them, but they are really good. We take quite a few wedding cake orders and I've not heard anyone come back to complain x
I'm making my own....bulk buy betty Crocker sponge cake mixes cos they come out perfect everytime and doing a naked wedding cake.
Yes!!! But because we are STILL WAITING for our wedding photos 16 weeks later, I have no photos to show you!!!
It was delicious though!
We bought one of each cake from Costco and had a desert table instead
We got a 2 tier patisserie Valerie cake big enough for the wedding party, then M&S "slicing bars" in matching flavours to make up the numbers. Worked a treat.
Yes go got it
I did it was fine. decorate it yourself
Mine was M&S didn’t have any problems
We ordered a m&s one, three tiers being sponge, red velvet and chocolate if I remember! Lovely cake, just got ribbon which the hotel put on for us and the florest put a couple spare flowers on top. Simple, beautiful, cheap and most importantly delicious
We bought the sponge and chocolate for my Mums 60th. They looked great and were easy to decorate ourselves. But they didn't taste that great to be honest
Our M&S cake tasted delicious and it was fun to decorate it with my bridesmaids at the venue the day before. Ours was a bit wonky but it added to the charm 😜 however if you’d be bothered by that, I’d say have the tiers flush to each other rather than raised on plinths. It cost way less than others I’d seen and did the job perfectly.
