Wed2b is ideal if you’re not wanting to spend a fortune. Some dresses I’ve loved online I didn’t like in the shop. I spent a day just window shopping for styles, silhouettes, materials etc to gain an understanding of what it was that I really wanted. Hope this helps😊

Go to a boutique and try a load on. Try Wed2b, I ended up getting mine from there. Try every style, even if you think it's not for you. It will either confirm you were right or it may turn out to be the perfect dress. Enjoy!

I think you just need to go and try them on. I had an idea in my head of the style I wanted and saved lots of Google images of that style but when I actually tried them on I didn't like them at all and bought a completely different style! 🤦 .. good luck 💕 xx

I went to wed2be and they were fab havs ended up with total opposite of what i thought i wanted and a shape i never imagined i would ever have x

UKbride Member 14 Jan 2020

Tell them how you're feeling. It's their job to make you feel at ease and help you find what your looking for. They can take you through options and give their reccommendations to get you started! And try on everything, you never know what you might like!

Another vote for Wed2b, if you've got one close enough, no hard sell and you can try loads of different styles. Go to a boutique for a more personal experience, but be prepared to stand firm if you aren't that keen, it is more difficult to say no!

Debenhams are good

UKbride Member 14 Jan 2020

Go to a shop with your most trusted advisor and ask to try on one of each silhouette ( a line, trumpet, Princess, fishtail etc) that’s a sure fire way to show you the best fit for you without being too overwhelming. From there you can browse online and hopefully have a clear view of your ideal dress x

Go into a shop and try on some styles 🙂 relax and enjoy the process xx

UKbride Member 14 Jan 2020

I bought mine in Mia Sposa in Hatton garden. Having a bespoke veil made to match. Can’t fault the team there x

UKbride Member 14 Jan 2020

I'm off to my first dress shop in a couple weeks. Going to ask to try on one of every style as I have no idea. Then once I have an idea I will be looking at a web2b, bridal relived shop to save a few pennies. Xx

UKbride Member 14 Jan 2020

Definitely go to a shop or is so much easier as what you think suits you may not so you need to try all styles x

UKbride Member 14 Jan 2020

Wed2b xxxx

UKbride Member 14 Jan 2020

I went into my first shop last week with a list of samples that I wanted to look at to help save some pennies. Tried on one of each style and to my surprise came away with a sample dress that I would never have picked but could not leave the shop without. Saved myself £700!

Sugar & Spice were amazing from start to finish Tracey was so good I didn't have a clue what I wanted but she found me the perfect dress and my bridesmaids dresses too xx

UKbride Member 14 Jan 2020

I had a look online for ideas of styles that I liked before i went to a shop, but if I'm honest it was a total waste of time as dresses that I liked online, i hated on me!! I went to wed2b, which is where I purchased my dress, and they were lovely and so helpful! X

UKbride Member 14 Jan 2020

Wed2b are amazing. X

UKbride Member 14 Jan 2020

I went to a boutique last Saturday and they had a massive sale on. Found a dress to the complete opposite of what I thought I wanted! Should have been £1,000 but was down to £499!! They had tons to choose from.

I did walk into Wed2b but dresses were around £599 and shop was rammed so I didn't try any on.

I was well chuffed with dress I found and loved the experience! X

UKbride Member 14 Jan 2020

Wed2B! Fantastic and doesn't cost the earth xx

UKbride Member 14 Jan 2020

I had a look for ideas on what I like then plan to visit shops in a few months. Then i can tell the ladies i like x style with y veil etc and I have a starting place to start trying things on

UKbride Member 14 Jan 2020

Start off by going into a shop (if you’ve got a Wed2Be nearby then I highly recommend!) then try on different styles and see what you like, what suits your shape etc - then that will massively narrow down your options and give you a great jumping off point for shopping around!

UKbride Member 14 Jan 2020

When I went wedding dress shopping I had an “idea” of what style I wanted and I ended getting something completely different and it was in the sale. So you need to try dresses on in a shop to have an idea of what style and size you what and if it’s to prices you can order online x

UKbride Member 14 Jan 2020

#Wed2b really good choice and pricing x

UKbride Member 14 Jan 2020

There’s a company heart brides in the Cambridgeshire/Suffolk area that go around different hotels, they’re really good. you pick out what ones you want to try and then they’ll go off of that of different designs. I went once and didn’t like anything went again a few months later and found the one!

UKbride Member 14 Jan 2020

I went to wed2b to start with but ended up buying from a wedding dress shop 600 instead of over 1000, while wed2b is good they are straight of the hanger and if you it altering then you will need to go somewhere else to have that done so check prices for that as well just to see if it is actually cheaper

UKbride Member 14 Jan 2020

I went to a bridal outlet shop

UKbride Member 14 Jan 2020

I saw my dress on Lindy Bop's page and bought it right away. It was less than £50! What's the point in spending stupid money on a dress that you'll only wear once?

UKbride Member 14 Jan 2020

I was really lucky went to one shop, tried on once dress and loved it x

UKbride Member 14 Jan 2020

I went into a wedding dress boutique, tried the dresses on which I thought would suit me and then tried ones on I wouldn't normally have opted for, then I asked the lovely ladies who worked there which ones they thought would suit my figure best and turns out that was the one I choose, just keep your options open and when you try them on you will just know which is the one x

UKbride Member 14 Jan 2020

I got my dress in wed2be highly recommend x

UKbride Member 14 Jan 2020

I got my dress at the wedding dress factory outlet

UKbride Member 14 Jan 2020

Go shop try dresses on its exciting x

UKbride Member 14 Jan 2020

web2be puts their prices online and it's affordable. I went there and was pleased with the service as I didn't know what I wanted. I left the shop an hour later with my wedding dress!

UKbride Member 14 Jan 2020

Got my dress in Wed2 Be. Couldn’t fault the service and got the 2nd dress I tried on!!! Exactly what I wanted to! Can’t wait to wear it on my wedding day!

UKbride Member 14 Jan 2020

I'm starting going to shops next week. Would suggest following Wed2b on Facebook, when they post a dress you like, bookmark it. They're the most relaxed wedding dress shop I'm aware of. No appointment needed. You can phone ahead with your list of bookmarked dresses too to check they're at your nearest branch.

UKbride Member 14 Jan 2020

Definitely try on a few different styles
I got my girls to pick 3 dresses each, and to make sure they were within my budget and I chose a couple myself then just went for it and tried them on
I felt different in the one I ended up choosing the minute it went on and when I saw it in the mirror I just cried and we all knew it was the one straight away
It had a long train and the shop arranged for me to have the veil I wanted made specially for me to be the right length to match the length of my train

UKbride Member 14 Jan 2020

Find a wed2b, explain its your first time, make sure you try different styles, what you pick may surprise you - wedding dresses are just a different kettle of fish :) but just go and enjoy x

UKbride Member 14 Jan 2020

I would 100% recommend asking around to people you know locally who are married for their recommendations for the best ‘experience’ shop. Do that shop first and then head to other shops like wed2be. The people who work in the boutiques know what they are doing and you will have 1:1 service with them and they will find dresses that suit you. Do that before looking online or going to off the rack shops as although the dresses will still be beautiful you may not get the service and help.. I was so nervous but I enjoyed the experience in the end 🙂 xx

UKbride Member 14 Jan 2020

try pinterest app. find an inspiration for your wedding gown. you can either find a similar ones to the shops or you can have it made.

UKbride Member 14 Jan 2020

I definitely would recommend going to at least 3 proper bridal boutiques as you get the full experience and they know what they are on about. I thought I found the one... went to another place and found one 10x better. You can never ever try on enough x

I went to a few boutiques. I'm a size 16 and they had hardly any that fitted me and I just felt so fat shamed. I didn't want to go again, but I went to wed2b and they had so much choice and were so lovely, they will help you out just let you look about with no time restrictions. I would definitely recommend wed2b, I found the one!!

UKbride Member 15 Jan 2020

Where abouts are you in the UK? xx

UKbride Member 16 Jan 2020

Hello! It can be daunting but this should really be one of the most exciting parts of the planning! 😊

My suggestion is to try before you buy.

Online shopping there is the good and the bad..BUYERS BEWARE: If you do decide to buy online please examine the websites and reviews which may show designer dresses which appear to be incredibly cheap. Some are being made in China and are badly stitched and end up being nothing like what was shown on their page. A tell, tell is the store will have a very long delivery time.

However, I would always recommend firstly to pop along to different stores to try different styles (especially styles you wouldn’t have considered before) you may be really surprised that the dress style you dreamt of actually is not the dress to say ‘yes’to! Have fun with it!

Always here to help if you need any guidance 🤗 and best of luck 🌟

You need to book an appointment at a few boutiques. Go with a friend or family member, bridesmaids or mum and have a look at different styles.
Tell them what your budget is and make sure you're straight with that. I said do not show me anything over 1000 pounds.

You will be surprised at the styles that you think you like online but you don't like in person when you try it on. Due to all of us being different shapes and sizes

I got a dress well within my budget in the sale and also fantastic customer 1-2-1 service x

I Personally did not like wed2be.
I found the woman was very pushy I also went in on my own which was a mistake.

The dress didn't really suit me and didn't really fit me and all she was really interested in was the sale. And told me to get it altered at dressmaker not impressed.

Don't think that all dresses in boutiques are expensive because they're really not especially if you can get one in the sale. Like I did it i found my dream dress (designer Stella York) and 1000 pound off the price. Xx

Good luck

My dress was from @gownsandgarters
