Have you got a back up date and/or month you want to get married on? Just incase your date has already been booked.
Once I found the venue I was 100% sure about I wasn't too bothered what date I booked.
I didn't think about anything else until venue & registrar were booked.
No just found place found nearest date available in month we wanted feb and 11th was available our first date was 14/2 so nearest to Saturday wasn’t bothered too much first wedding we made sure we turned up early enough to book date we wanted
I disnt but found out I was expecting on my hen do so we brought it forward. I didn't mind what date as I loved my venue :)
We wanted the 25th March 2021/2022 and ended up with the 7th March 2020 😂😂 we originally wanted the 25th as that’s our anniversary, but they had a cancellation for 2020 so it meant it was cheaper and the 7th March was a special date anyway as that’s the date we got engaged! So in the end we’re getting married exactly 1 year after we got engaged ☺️
We had to choose 3 dates for the registrars, incase our 1st & 2nd were booked. We got our 1st choice, which was 1st June (we got engaged 2nd june 2yrs before, and 1st falls halfway between our birthdays 😄)
I wanted the 13th of June 2020 as we got together on that date so I just got the weekend after 20.06.20 had a nice ring to it
I provissionally booked venue and got onto registrar for same day luckily free for both so put all deposits down
Originally I wanted the 22.07.2021 as thats my grandads bday and he's no longer with us but then we realised that the school holidays wouldn't quite have started and our teacher family members wouldn't be able to come so we just moved it back a couple of weeks and the venue was also free then :)
As long as I get to marry my Fiancè in the venue that we both love it didn't really matter what the date was in the end :)
We moved ours back a week as the day after the wedding was remembrance sunday and most of the guests including the groom were on parade or at remembrance services. Date didn't bother me, was just delighted that after 16 years together we were finally getting married.
We chose our month before we were even engaged. Our date we chose more recently. We were lucky that our venue isn't well known so we didn't have to worry about not getting our date. I would have been very unhappy if we couldn't have the date we'd chosen.
No, we decided venue was more important so found that and it dictated the date (they only had one Saturday left in 2020 even though we went 18 months in advance!)
We picked our church and reception venue and then chose a date they both had free
I was supposed to be getting married 11/7/2020 but realized I didn't want that date so I am now getting married on the 12/6/2021 which would have been my dad's birthday x
We had already been together 13 years by the time we married, so I was adamant I wanted the wedding on our anniversary. As it happened he tried to propose on our anniversary too, but we had to postpone our anniversary dinner 5 days cos he got heat stroke, and having the wedding on our actual anniversary turned out to not work, so we had it 5 days later on the anniversary of the engagement instead.
We didn't have a specific date just the month. Even booking 2 years in advance there were only a couple dates free!
We had chosen a month and asked our venue which dates they had free on a Saturday, they had 2 free that month so we chose from there. Our wedding date will be the 2 year anniversary of my h2b finishing uni and also the 2 year anniversary of my Nan passing away so will make it a positive date to our family instead.
You usually set the date when your venue is available 🤔
