We have found a venue, a lovely country house! However we’re struggling for themes... any suggestions would be appreciated! We want a traditional wedding, however not sure how to theme it!
What do you both like ? What your hobbies ?
What time of ur is it. Xx
You don't have to have a theme. Traditional style is fine x
You don't need a theme. Just go with what you like.
Like others have said you don’t need a theme, traditional is lovely too
We are going for colours rather than a theme
My wedding ceremony on Saturday was very traditional, just little nods to the disney theme, such as Mickey heads and the disney font on the programme and the songs during the signing of the register were disney. Wedding breakfast was still quite traditional, normal 3 course meal etc. Our table decorations matched our disney theme and we had a themed post box and Guestbook, but overall, things were quite traditional until the speeches (we sang it) and first dance (we did a choreographed waltz). It is possible to incorporate a theme and still have a traditional wedding.
Theme it what ever suits you and your partner, ours is Rustic with Disney touches
I think it depends on the time of year
We had an autumn wedding so went with them colours was perfect for us
I find the Brest eat to decide a theme was to look at things we had already chosen, think of other things you'd love to have on your day and then see what the similar features are. Then you can decide a theme. Mine had a little bit of butterfly theme with dream catchers and everything was white grey/silver and purple
We had a colour scheme but I can't say there was a particular theme to our wedding X
Is there something that you both particularly like for example a film or type of hobby that you could incorporate into it somehow into decor or wedding favours?
You don't need an actual theme if you're struggling, we had a couple of anchor-y things as my hubby is in the Merchant Navy but it was v subtle, I dunno if anyone noticed. And our table plan was actually all the UK castles we visited cause of a shared love for exploring but really if you were to look at our day you wouldn't say it was themed.
Me and my OH are a bit geeky and like sci-fi, but don't want a geeky wedding so we are doing a stary night theme with the colours navy and glitery silver. Having a 3pm winter/evening wedding to tie in with it. We also both love reading and writing and fairy tale/fantsy type stuff so incorporating little touches of those into the day too.. twinkle lights, tree center peices and floating candles and what not to give a fairytale feel and that will also tie into the stary night theme. It's worked out pretty well as we can tie a few of the things we love into the theme and colour without being obvious and in a very subtle way
We have a colour scheme and a theme for the table names, names of our favourite gin as we both love gin but that is really only for the seating chart, no gin bottles on tables for us
You really dont need a theme. Dont get wrapped in pinterest and Instagram weddings. Just choose things you like
We didn't have a theme per se, but I am quite outdoorsy and we as a family often have garden/barbecue parties, so we wanted an outdoor ceremony, and a great big barbecue.
Just have a colour scheme really I suppose if I had to say a theme it was minimal fresh and modern but you could go rustic with a country house wild flowers lots of wood etc xx
I'm not doing any theme really just a colour scheme, I worried that we would go over board with a theme and it would end up tacky
