Hey everyone! My H2B and I have found a venue that we both love but have just found out that they don't allow confetti, neither paper or petals no biodegradable either, so thinking on alternatives we thought about sparklers but nope not allowed them either :( has anyone got any suggestions? I'm gutted!
Bubbles?
Bubbles ?
Bubbles? Would make for lovely photos. Or those party whistle things with the paper bit that unravels.
What about the leaf cuttings where you hole punch leaves and collect them in little bags? ️
Bubbles :) look lovely in photos when the light catches them xx
How about either bubbles or ribbons on a stick (saw it on a murdoch mysteries recently) xxxx
Bubbles make lovely photos... we're having bubbles and confetti ;) x
Bubbles
Bubbles! We were in the same situation and gave everyone a wee bubble blower. For the official pictures it's worth getting a proper bubble blowing machine, they're about 30 quid on eBay
Definitely bubbles.
One of those coloured smoke things? It might not be allowed if sparklers are a no go, but worth an ask...
Ribbon wands x
Bubbles?
Bubbles!
Bubbles xxx
Bubbles aren't always very visible on camera. Streamers are great, though!
Bubbles,bird seed,ribbon wands,miniature bells,paper aeroplanes
My venue was the same. We used bubbles! They doubled as part of the favours for us too ❤️❤️
Glow sticks?
If you truly love this venue, is it really going to be so devastating that people can't throw bits of paper for about 10 seconds?
We didn't want confetti as our ceremony was outdoors. We had bubbles, and gave the kids bubble guns (with the sound disabled), and they loved them! The pictures turned out really pretty as well
Bubbles x
I'm having bubbles. I've brought 2 bubble machines from pound shop (£2 in sale £4 normally).. they let of loads of bubbles
Your photographer can do a posed shot and edit in the confetti
Bubbles look cute x
Have you asked them what they suggest/ allow?
Bubbles!
Bubbles
Do they allow confetti inside the building? Our venue allowed this but not outside as they have weddings most days so like to keep the plave pristine.
If that's not an option then what about bubbles? You can get really cute ones in the shape of a wedding cake etc. :-)
You can dye bubble solution too that could be quite fun x
ime useing bubbles x
Bubbles are great for photos instead of confetti .. have they given you any suggestions as to what they would accept? I’d ask them what they have had in the past for weddings and go from there x
What about a bubble machine and you give your guests a bottle of bubbles and as you an your husband walk out they blow bubbles xx
Bubbles. I’m going to get bubbles for all the kids to have at our wedding
Bubbles x
Make an arch if you have a hobby. My parents do archery and often they all hold up wooden bows as an arch for the couple to walk through!
bubbles!
I seen I lovely idea leaves and use a love heart hole punch then put them in little paper cones X
You could also do a fake confetti and get your photographer to add in an overlay afterwards?
Poundland do little bubble wands so your guests can blow bubbles. They're 10 for £1 so they're really cheap too!
What about bubbles?
Stole the pic off Google. We have made 50 of these in our colour scheme. Really easy and the effect looks really good
We are having bubbles at ours
We had bubbles at ours for the same reason but effect just as good
Get the guests to pretend to throw stuff then photoshop it in after - I’m sure you can make a joke about it somewhere - maybe even make some confetti cones with a note in explaining it lol
Bubbles
I had bubble guns at my wedding and I was so pleased with the results. It look amazing and the guests had so much fun. X
Ask the venue if they allow anything FUN??!!!
We are using bubbles. Mini wands from eBay for the guests and a couple of bubble guns for the bridal party
Ribbon wands x
We did bubbles. They were cheap and looked great in the photo s
bubbles!
Bubbles!!
Bubbles that what I'm having
In my experience, our venue had similar rules but the planner was quite relaxed with it in the end.. you might find down the line that they allow you..
Champagne...
Bubbles? X
I'm getting married in July and haven't even considered the decisions to make on confetti yet (I'd better add to the long list!). Out of interest, those of you who have used bubbles, did anyone find it left marks on your dress? I love the idea and can imagine the photos would look fab, but I'd worry about that!
Bubbles xx

I'd say bubbles BUT they can stain/mark clothing
A different venue that isn't so up their own arse!!!!!!
Bubbles is cute and if you wanna support a charity i think CHD charity sell them!
Bubbles!!!
Ours isn’t allowed either we’re having bubbles instead
Do you really need confetti? My venue doesn’t allow confetti of any kind, I loved the venue and it wasn’t a deal breaker that they didn’t allow confetti it’s not that far up my list of important things
Bubbles
Bubbles! x
Bubbles they also make great photos and kids will love them
Paper airplanes!
Bubbles always look good in pictures
What about those wand things?
Bubbles are fun, we had this problem as we married on a nature reserve. Xx
Honestly I wouldn’t stress about it. It’s most likely the most expensive dress you’ll ever own, does it matter if people throw scraps of paper on it. It doesn’t add anything to photos and it’s a nightmare to clean up.
Hiya! I’m a wedding photographer, and I literally just wrote a blog on this, take a read! 😊 hope it helps! ❤️

Bubbles, and to avoid irritated eyes etc you can get 'cat bubbles' from pet shops!! More expensive but you can buy a bottle and separate it out into smaller wedding-y containers, which you can buy pretty cheap on places like Wish and AliExpress
How about bubbles x
How about bubbles? No clean up required and could look really pretty and unique :)
Bubbles. Xx
Flowers and leaves hole punched or colour gas bombs
We're using bubbles instead of confetti x
Rose petals?
Bubbles sound like a really cute idea. Whilst adding significant effect to the photos. Might be a new trend to look out for!
Oooh bubbles are great idea, I'll use them myself ☺️ are not allowed even dried up flower petals? I dried up the flowers during year, what I've been given and gonna use them, as we are also not allowed to have any confetti at all
What about a wand or stick with ribbons on your colour scheme?
I see it has been suggested but my friend actually mentioned bubbles today and said you can get a thing to put the bride and groom in big one big bubble as well!
What about bubbles ?? X
Bubbles are lovely but I have recently been to a wedding where they used bubbles and when they got on dresses they stained and the brides dress was covered and she was gutted, so use with caution!!
