Hey everyone! My H2B and I have found a venue that we both love but have just found out that they don't allow confetti, neither paper or petals no biodegradable either, so thinking on alternatives we thought about sparklers but nope not allowed them either :( has anyone got any suggestions? I'm gutted!

Bubbles? Would make for lovely photos. Or those party whistle things with the paper bit that unravels.

What about the leaf cuttings where you hole punch leaves and collect them in little bags? ️

Bubbles! We were in the same situation and gave everyone a wee bubble blower. For the official pictures it's worth getting a proper bubble blowing machine, they're about 30 quid on eBay

Definitely bubbles.

One of those coloured smoke things? It might not be allowed if sparklers are a no go, but worth an ask...

If you truly love this venue, is it really going to be so devastating that people can't throw bits of paper for about 10 seconds?

We didn't want confetti as our ceremony was outdoors. We had bubbles, and gave the kids bubble guns (with the sound disabled), and they loved them! The pictures turned out really pretty as well

Do they allow confetti inside the building? Our venue allowed this but not outside as they have weddings most days so like to keep the plave pristine.

If that's not an option then what about bubbles? You can get really cute ones in the shape of a wedding cake etc. :-)

Bubbles are great for photos instead of confetti .. have they given you any suggestions as to what they would accept? I’d ask them what they have had in the past for weddings and go from there x

Make an arch if you have a hobby. My parents do archery and often they all hold up wooden bows as an arch for the couple to walk through!

Poundland do little bubble wands so your guests can blow bubbles. They're 10 for £1 so they're really cheap too!

Get the guests to pretend to throw stuff then photoshop it in after - I’m sure you can make a joke about it somewhere - maybe even make some confetti cones with a note in explaining it lol

I'm getting married in July and haven't even considered the decisions to make on confetti yet (I'd better add to the long list!). Out of interest, those of you who have used bubbles, did anyone find it left marks on your dress? I love the idea and can imagine the photos would look fab, but I'd worry about that!

Honestly I wouldn’t stress about it. It’s most likely the most expensive dress you’ll ever own, does it matter if people throw scraps of paper on it. It doesn’t add anything to photos and it’s a nightmare to clean up.

Bubbles, and to avoid irritated eyes etc you can get 'cat bubbles' from pet shops!! More expensive but you can buy a bottle and separate it out into smaller wedding-y containers, which you can buy pretty cheap on places like Wish and AliExpress

Oooh bubbles are great idea, I'll use them myself ☺️ are not allowed even dried up flower petals? I dried up the flowers during year, what I've been given and gonna use them, as we are also not allowed to have any confetti at all

Bubbles are lovely but I have recently been to a wedding where they used bubbles and when they got on dresses they stained and the brides dress was covered and she was gutted, so use with caution!!
