I get married April 2020 and getting my invites next week to be sent out in June... Gives people more than enough time to get it off work and travelling down etc. X

I'm getting married in Oct this year, we sent our Dates out in Christmas cards and a few in Jan. I'm sending my full invites within the next month or two. Between 4-6 months is good.

I think it’s best to send the save the dates as soon as you have your venue booked. We got married 23rd May 2018 and sent ours out August 2017. Invitations should be sent a minimum of 3 months prior to the big day

We've just started handing save the dates out for July 2020. Invites will go out 4 months before

I'm getting married 27th july this year. Save the dates were hand delivered on 27th july 2018 - year to the day due to summer holidays.

Save the dates you can usually send out now so people have advanced time to book it off. The Invites then are normally sent out 6/7 months before hand with an rsvp to come back at the latest 3 months before the big day

Save the dates 12 months before day invites 5-6months before evening invites 2-3 months before that way if any day guests drop out you can bump evening guests without them knowing they were 2nd choice!

I'm July 2020 and save the dates are out over a year ago now. As soon as possible I'd say so people can sort out travel if coming from far away, booking time off work and getting kids minded. My mum has to give 2 years notice in work to book time off which is crazy but then I wonder how else has to do the same xxx

Save the dates is just another expense, 4-6 months is more than enough time for people to organise time off work! Or make up a group mail for the people who have F/b and phone the rest

We did our save the dates as a closed Facebook event for as many as we could. The two people that weren’t on there have been told in person. Gonna send the invites out about 8 months before as we want to try and bump some people up if we can.
Got our bridesmaid dresses from ever-pretty.com. They are amazing.

We are getting married this May. We got engaged in May 2017 and sent out our save the date cards in September 2017 so people had plenty of notice and then we sent our invitations out not long after and put an RSVP date on the invites so that we could make a list of who had RSVP and who we had to chase up after our date kn the invites. I've bought my dress online from debenhams. They have some really nice dresses on there site xx

We got engaged in May 2018 and getting married August 2019. We sent save the dates around July just because a lot of our friends are also getting engaged/married plus our jobs. We have just designed our invites and will send them out around Easter once they are made with an rsvp of end of June

We are only doing invites as we’re getting married April 2020 and everybody already knows as it’s a tiny wedding , however if you have a large wedding party I say a year before which is what we have done told everyone a year before

I looked at dresses online to begin with then went to a shop to try some on and was pleasantly surprised at the price i got mines off the rack it was the dress id been lusting after online, it fits perfect and just so happened to be in the sale at the time... I'd look online at designs but go to shops and try some on. If you don't find any you like or if they're out with your price range you can always go back to ordering online and you'll have a better idea of styles that suit. Plus it's nice to have the day trying on the dresses. We're not bothering with save the dates majority of people know when ours is and have booked hotel rooms and time off already we've not even sent invites yet will be doing that sometime in April and we're getting married the beginning of Sept... hope that helps

We get married March 2020.
We decided not to do save the dates as it was an additional expense, those closest to us are aware of the date anyway.
We plan to send our invites September time with a RSVP date in December then evening invites will go out January

My dress is from wed2be, they have some amazing dresses at great prices, take home the same day as you buy off the peg. You can look at the dresses online to get ideas but go to your local branch and try as many as you like on

Our bridesmaid dresses are from ASOS

Always check what the returns policy is when you look online, I found some online only companies made returns difficult if you didn’t like the dresses.

Happy planning!

Have a look on eBay ... you don’t have to spend loads on save the dates but it gives people the dates well in advance... these help being sent out approx a year in advance due to people booking holidays etc... then can order/send the actual invites out a few months before when you know all the finer details x

We sent out our save the dates exactly a year before (the wedding date, the year before) to give people plenty of notice. We then started to send the invites out in the November, with a deadline on them of March to return the RSVP’s by so we had plenty of time to organise and chase up the stragglers. We found that giving people so much notice that we had barely any drop out closer to the time because it gave our guests plenty of time to organise baby sitters etc xxx

We are getting married on the same day as you. And we are just doing invites. I've told my family about the wedding details as soon as we booked and just asked if they were coming to get idea of numbers. This is because they would mostly be coming from abroad. We will send invites out end of November.

I'm getting married 7th May 2020 which is a Thursday and we're sending our save the dates out in May. Its personal choice whether to send them or not, but we've chosen to because we're getting married on a weekday so people will need to arrange time off work, and we have guests coming from America and Canada and want to give them as much notice as possible.

Send save the date cards as soon as you know your guest list. Send invites out closer to the time. I got married May 27th and sent invites out during January (avoided Christmas post just in case). Requested RVSP by the end of March to allow for catering orders etc.
