Has anyone bought a cheap dress off Ebay and been happy with it? I'm refusing to spend £700+ on a dress I will only wear for 12hrs max. I thought I could but a bigger size even get it taken in it jewels added
Hi I didn't like the idea of spending a fortune. I found a dress I love at £800. After I am going to have it redesigned so I can wear it again also I am going to make a memory blanket of family that have passed so will add some to that. My sister had one of eBay she loved it and looked beautiful in it. Good luck x
You could try oxfam they have a wedding shop. I got mine made by a lady on Etsy and it’s absolutely beautiful, it only cost £275.
Have a look at JJshouse and ASOS also wed2be. They all have fantastic priced dresses. There are also lots of preloved dresses about on fb pages have a look for wedding sale pages in your area x
Yes I have I spent 50 quid on my dress and it was amazing
Try looking at vinted as well some nice dresses on there x
I got mine brand new from a bridal shop that was closing down for £50! Spent another £200 adding stuff to it
Yes I did 50 quid and is amazing x
Look for China dresses on Facebook. Appt of people on there have bought their dresses off ebay x
Try Wed2B xx
I got mine from debenhams for £199....i loved it x
Go to wed2b they have gorgerous dresses
My mum customized the top and skirt for me
I bought mine off eBay. Have had no issues at all
I did and I didn't like it even after I had alterations done. I ended up going to Debenhams and fell in love with a dress for only £130.
Also worth having a look on Still White, lots of lovely second hand dresses that are like new!
Try chi chi . I've got mine for £75. I will only wear it once , so don't see the point in paying over the odds for one. I love mine quality is really good too
My mum just got a dress from China spent 100 and it came awful and can't send it back cause it costs a fortune to send it back wed2b I'm going for the one I want is 600
A bought mines from chichi London site and was amazing quality for the price
I got my dress for £26 off wish £40 with postage I love it I watched a lot of YouTube videos after about how hit and miss they can be.
I have to have it altered massively but that was my fault I ordered a size bigger and since have lost a lot of weight ( unintentionally)
But I was so pleased with the fabric, feel and look of it.
I said if it hadn’t of paid off I could of used it as a halloween costume 😂. But I know have a lovely dress for cheaper than what my bridesmaids dresses will probably cost
I bought my wedding dress for £100 on AliExpress and then got it customised.. this was the before.. i changed the bottom half to satin cos the fabric was cheap and crappy, and then used all the puff at the bottom to make/fill out an overskirt. Altogether my dress cost just under £200 lol
There are lots of second hand wedding dress sites, I got mine brand new with labels rrp £700 for £240 including postage from Still White. I'm not sure about all the sites but the lady I bought it from just had a change of heart and wanted a different dress to wear for her wedding, so it was just like having a brand new dress. It was nice as well as it helps other brides out who change their mind and recycles dresses depending on what you like. Happy dress hunting! x
ASOS has a lovely bridal range, wedding fairs area good place to get heavily discounted dresses I got my gorgeous vintage one at a wedding fair for £400
I bought mine and my bridesmaids' dresses from Lindy Bop. The whole lot cost me £70!
I'm selling mine on Facebook marketplace and on eBay for less than that, if interested! Send me a PM
I got my bridesmaids dresses off of e bay from China ... they were perfect only needed taking up in length and only £40 each x
This’ll be unpopular but cheap dresses from eBay are cheap for a reason, someone’s been underpaid to make the dress in all likelihood and the design has been ripped from independent designers.
You can find an excellent value dress in wed2be or preloved. Oxfam in London has a whole dedicated wedding shop.
WED2B all their dresses are under 700 xxxx
I bought my dress from jjs house. It was just over £200, brand new, made to measure and i was over the moon with it. There are thousands to choose from and loads are even cheaper than mine was. It is well worth a look.
I got my dress made to measure from China for approx £200 and I loved it, only needed a touch of alterations (bringing the hem up at the bottom as it was slightly too long - my own fault as I measured with shoes with a bigger heel and changed my mind and had a much smaller heel!)
Highly recommend Wed2B xx
My sister paid 140 for a dress off ebay, when it turned up it was too small, ripped and nothing like the picture.
My mum took her bargain hunting where we found the dress she had always loved in a charity shop for £100.
Id say look around first some charity shops have a big store full of wedding dresses but may mean you travelling to them x it's always better to see in person where you can try it on and see and feel the fabric and condition
Wed2be have lots of beautiful dresses for less than £700 x
Still White have lots of bargains, lots of people haven't even wore there dress just changed their minds!
I got mine from a lovely woman who sells ex samples at really brilliant prices! Perfect fit and only 114 for mine! Needs no alterations or anything adding to it!
I’m selling my dress on Still white. There are loads on there to choose from. X
Stacees.co.uk have great dresses. I was really happy
There are so many previously owned shops and websites with beautiful dresses, got mine for £500 and will be able to sell it for the same price x
Have a look on cocomelody website they've got an actual shop in L.A as well so they're luv it. There's a Facebook group for reviews as well. Their dresses are stunning x
Check facebook wedding dress selling pages, i got mine from one and it was £135 and was dry cleaned. I get married in may. X
Google charity wedding dress shops my mum bought one that supported cancer research and was a fraction of the cost of some dresses!!
I got mine for £50 in the monsoon sale - should have been £390. Just hunt high and low till you find what you want X
I bought mine from eBay £80 inc p&p instead of over £500, it’s my 3rd dress.
It is Monsoon x
Got mine £53 off ebay plus 9 postage coming from China should be here next week xxxxxxxx
Look for sales at your local bridal shops.
Havs a look on a site called Hebeos...they are based in america i think....but most dresses are under £300. Mine was £124 and its perfect
I bought my wedding dress from off ebay from. China for £56.00
Feel free to judge mine for yourself, because I absolutely loved my dress. Fitted a treat, all I purchased extra was the £15 underskirt.
Honestly bridal boutiques and bridal seemstresses are an a rip off for what they do.
We have a store in Liverpool called Bridal Reloved. Gorgeous dresses for a fraction of the price. Maybe you have something like that where you live?
I brought my dress off China with lots of researching of sellers and feedback. I paid £100.
It did arrive a little long but took it to someone local I know and she didn't charge me much to take it up a bit. I am so glad I did it this way round. I had loads of comments on my dress xx
Mine eBay £36 I got it for still had tag on it was £1500 brand new never been worn xx
I got mine from a little shop in Farnborough, Hants called Bridal Centre. It’s a sample and just needs taking in, got it half the price of what I was prepared to pay! Shop looks really old fashioned, but was great!
No need for ebay. Wed2be and you can try it in. I got mine for £100 as I was of the same opinion
I got the most amazing dress on eBay for £80 inc p&p. I'll have to spend about the same again on alterations.
Shops like Debenhams and ASOS also have amazing bridal ranges.
I live in Carlisle and my local cancer research charity shop has a bridal outlet attached to it. All the dresses are new factory outlet dresses. It's worth checking around
Oxfam usually have a bridal section and also wed2b are really nice dresses if ur willing to buy straight off the rail.
I unfortunately have been caught by the typical bridal shop who saw me coming and I've paid well over what I wanted to for my dress ...but it is genuinely the dress of my dreams.
I know a couple of people who ordered dresses online, one was beautiful but the quality of the material around her arms was that rough it caused her to bleed towards the end of the day (Not great on an ivory dress)
The other was a beautiful red dress with lots of sparkle / gems on the corset bodice... of which a lot fell off throughout the day leaving it quite patchy. Both dresses were approx £200.
That being said, I have heard some good stories of buying online.... I guess it's just luck of the draw.
Good luck x
I found my dress online, it’s from a boutique in LA, I was so happy with it and it was only £300 but was in the sale... haven’t worn it yet but it’s beautiful xx
Look on etsy too! I found my dream dress for around £500, you're supporting a small business and you'll get your dress made to your exact measurements, it'll also be unique to you too!
You can get beautiful high street wedding dresses.
Also Debenhams have HUGE sale on their Bertex/wedding stock!
I bought mine for £79 on eBay and absolutely loved it
I bought a purple wedding dress for £54 I loved it marks and Spencers sell wedding dresses at decent prices. You don't have to spend a fortune.
I got mine from a closing down bridal boutique was down from 1500.... I got it for 60 pounds it was stunning
Look for preloved dresses on eBay I got mine on there for a ridiculously cheap price
Cocomelody is a nice site for cheap but really nice dresses
Got mine from jjs house. Love it. And had it custom sizing which was so generous I have to have it taken in loads. Cost £280 for a beautiful ballgown dress. Very well made too
Got mine in charity shop 25 quid worth 2000
Wed2B do dresses for £699 and under and they are gorgeous!
Mine was £69 on ebay from China. I bought it in plenty of time so could have it adjusted or replace if it was unsuitable. It was perfect.
I bought mine on ebay. Can from China for £129. Quality was fantastic and i can’t wait to wear it xx
Wed2b had a wonderful range I got mine for less than £600 and it has POCKETS!!! X
Lovely ones on market place to.
Look at JJs House their dresses are a very reasonable price. I bought my bridesmaids dresses from them and the quality was fabulous
You could try on dresses and if you find one you like check eBay for it first. I found my perfect dress at wed2be but after an awful experience there I found the dress on eBay and saved myself £400 and all the hassle
I just brought one from a web site called jjs house really lovely dresses I paid £150 for mine please have a look they have some lovely dresses xxxx
I brought my dress of eBay and it’s amazing even tho it was made to measure it was too big but my amazingly talented mum has took it in and you honestly wouldn’t kno I didn’t get it from a shop and only cost me £60
I bought my dress online for £30.00ish and loved it xXx - https://www.ever-pretty.com/uk/long-empire-waist-evening-dress-with-short-flutter-sleeves-ep09890.html
Bridal barn is a fantastic place to look. I managed to get mine for £100. Good luck x
You can’t put a price on the feeling a wedding dress gives you. I bought a cheap dress off eBay for £120 and it was good enough but didn’t make me feel beautiful.
I ended up buying a new dress a few months before the big day for £1140 and I can honestly say on my wedding day I have never felt so confident and amazing. It was worth every penny.
I think when it comes to your wedding day just accept that things are going to be expensive. You’ll never have this day again (hopefully)
Go to bridal shops and check out the sale items. Some very lovely dresses at affordable prices. x
Definitely wed2b! I got 2 dresses online and they were horrendous, plus the sellers were a nightmare to deal with. Wed2b have so many reasonable dresses that are beautiful, deffo worth going there just for the experience even if you don't buy one x
I'm planning in trying on dresses in Wed2be to see what styles suit me and then order off JJSHouse
Wed2be is an amazing place to go look for your dress. I found THE one I loved in a boutique for just over £800. I then head of wed2be & found the exact same dress for £500.
My sister is selling hers plus the bag and belt for £200 xx size 12/14 and can be tried on if wanted
I did, I was happy with it... you could tell it didn’t come from a boutique, but I was happy with it xx
try wed2b verry good prices i got my dress vail Tara for next to 500
I got mine from China off Wish for £87 and I loved it. Just be prepared for it not to look exactly like the picture! I knew it wouldnt so I wasnt disappointed. Needed a few bits and pieces adjusting but only minor things. It was really well made too. Just buy it with plenty of time to spare so if it's not right you can send it back and find something else!
I bought my bridesmaids dresses from EBay, Chinese seller and they were £23 each. The quality and the fit is brilliant. My best friend bought her wedding dress and a reception dress from EBay for her wedding years ago (about £80 I think) and again it was a Chinese seller and the quality was brilliant! You would never have know that she didn’t spend hundreds on it.
Try Preloved to Reloved Bridal at Love Lace Designs or somewhere similar
Got mine for just over £100 on ali express when other sites had it listed as £600, was perfect i only had to have it made a slight bit shorter at the front, was a little wrinkled when it came but used a steamer and it was fine
I would try your local charity shops quite often you even get ones that specialise in wedding dresses... get them at a fraction of the price... and as u said only been worn for 12 hours or so.
I got mine from amazon went for size bigger because I wasn't sure how it comes up but fits perfectly x
Wed2be are brilliant. But my daughter had her dress and bridesmaid dress off ebay both looked stunning for a really great price. Hope you find your dress xx
Excuse the not great picture but mine was from eBay. £44 including delivery from China. I added straps as I couldn't get a strapless bra I was happy with but that is the only alteration i did (I'd taken my heels off here so looks a little long but was perfect with my heels on). It was fairly lightweight fabric but once I had my hoop on I loved it xx
Amy Tess Rowland
Have a look on sites like ASOS boohoo places chi chi London they have some beautiful bridal dresses
I got my dress from David’s bridal (national chain)
You don’t have to spend the earth and at least you know what you are getting x
Mines technically a bridesmaid dress from a boutique, made to measure in ivory for £395
I got my wedding dress off eBay and loved it. The quality of the material was really good. I didnt have any issues. X
Look on Amazon they have a lot of wedding dresses for under£100, and if you buy them
Mine was second hand x
Have a look on still white! Some gorgeous dresses on there x
Try jjs house. They do lovely dresses
My parents paid £700 for my dress and then we paid £200 for alterations!! Crazy how expensive dresses can be, mine was in the sale should of been £1700.
Yep I did and I think my dress is lovely, I also got my 4 adult bridesmaids dress off eBay and again all look lovely
I would also recommend either looking second hand for cheaper but decent dresses or (depending on what style you’re after) ASOS & Debenhams have Bridal ranges. Xx
Try an off the peg dress. Ive only paid £400 for my dress and its beautiful
I found one from Wed2be then changed my mind and took it back as the material of the dress wasn't as nice as from a bridal shop Although my dress cost £1,800 i was happy i changed my mind in the end xx
If you do buy second hand would definitely suggest getting a size or 2 bigger and have it taken in as you suggested. Then you can have it tailored to your shape and it will look fabulous and expensive. And this would be a fraction of the cost.
Alternatively you can do what i did and buy an off the rail dress which is meant to be an evening dress - i didnt mean to do this but it was just so perfect! This isnt always the cheapest option but i did get a beautiful silk and jewelled dress which, if marketed as a wedding dress, would have been about 3 times the price! And the quality was beautiful whereas a lot of wedding dresses are made of synthetics.
Good luck and hope you have the best day xxx
YES!!!! I paid £50 for my dress. I bought a size up. It's perfect....
Yes I purchased my dress off eBay, perfect fit and really happy
I have bought mine for £70 with postage from Facebook market. Its beautiful princess gown, need little alteration, and maybe little bit of ironing. But absolutely stunning
Ahhhhh I wish I could of done this. I was so fussy and so scared to buy one online. And I didn’t have a huge amount of time either. My dress arrived 3 weeks before the wedding. I spent £2.6k 🤢 on an Enzoani dress.
Just need to sell it! Xx
If you want something less that 700 look at wed2b not sure what your price range is but you can see it before you buy, try it on and take away same day, as well as having the whole dress buying experience at an affordable price. It's your day you deserve to make the most of the experience 😊 xx
I got mine for £45 from Asda direct....
Never buy a china dress but you can get decent samples! I bought one for 87 pounds and it’s gorgeous on eBay. Only do sample/display you can get designer dresses cheap! Also try little mistress etc they do cheaper bridal ranges
HI ...magbridal on the internet £ 174 .20 my dress cost me it would of cost a lot more
You Can have a look on Wed2b they have amazing dresses. :)
