I need help with my dress!

I bought a dress with an empire line and later realised it really doesn't flatter my hour glass shape figure. I have a relatively thin waist and the dress makes me look bigger than I am. I really need advice about how I can try to alter it or do something to fix it. Any ideas? Please help! I already thought of adding a belt, but it needs to be really thick (vertically) to achieve a waist line at the thinnest part of my waist. It looks weird having this big band in the middle of the dress! The bodice is detailed and the skirt is plain.

Could you not try and go to a seamstress who knows their way around wedding dress alterations? Not sure if there’s much they can do, but they could suggest something more than likely..

Rather than a belt what about a man's cumberband in a colour that matches your flowers

You could get a corset added to the back which would bring it in at the waist

That sounds like a design change best taken to a seamstress who deals with wedding dresses . Maybe easier looking for a new dress and selling the one you've bought x

Sounds like you might need a new dress? An empire line is hard to take in and a change like that will totally change the dress. X

Sell it and buy a new one you need to feel comfortable

If you can’t get a seamstress to alter it - sell it and buy an A line x
