Wedding Post Box

Hi all. I’m wondering how people have collected cards on their big day? I’m looking at buying a metal post box and just decorating it myself as it will work out cheaper than buying one. Just wondered what other people used and how they were decorated or if you used another material for your box. Thanks

I ordered a personalised wooden one from eBay and then the front slides out and is replaced by a personalised lid to reuse as a memory box was a bargain too at around £25 x

We had a wooden crate with handmade wooden 'Cards' sign on the side. We had a rustic/vintage barn wedding so it went really well with our theme. Crate was around £10 from Ikea and the card sign around £8 and we can obviously reuse the crate!

I’m using a big picnic hamper x I like the postboxes but I’ve been to weddings where some cards don’t fit in the letterbox so I thought a big hamper (I was given a fortnum&mason one a few years ago) would look nice and you can decorate it with bunting x

Not my photo .... But I did something similar , found a vintage suitcase in a charity shop , got the washing line and spelt out " cards " ..... Brilliant at end of night as just closed the suitcase to carry the cards away so nothing got left behind by accident !!!! ........

Love all of these ideas! I was thinking of getting a metal one which locks. I’ve heard some stories where people went to collect the cards and they had been ransacked and things stolen so I’m cautious of that happening!
