Is 6 months enough time to book a venue?

It all depends on the venue and it’s availability the sooner the better x

All depends on the venue. We booked 18 months in advance and they only had a couple dates available for the month we wanted. It's not just the venue you have to think about tho it's the registrar too. A couple quick phone calls to both will soon give you answers tho x

If they have availability and you can pay it off before the date I don’t see a problem. My venue does a whirlwind package that books dates for 6months and under

Depends where you are. I'd make sure you've got a registrar (if needed) before you book somewhere. We've just bought our wedding forward 6 months so now getting married in December this year, luckily everyone we'd already booked was free

It definitely can be done. We booked our 3 entire wedding in 7months, but as others have said a few calls should clear things up for you x Good Luck!

We booked ours with less than 100 days to go! Get the venue to hold the date while you check the registrars have availability x

If they have availability. Summer months are usually booked in advance and also depends on which day of the week you want to get married

We did everything from deciding a date to saying "i do" in 10 weeks anything is possible as long as your date is available x

Depends on the popularity of the venue for weddings, if it’s in the busy season or if you happen to be lucky and it’s not already booked. X

It all depends on venue availability. We managed to get a venue for 5 months time. As someone said before, get the venue first but pencil it in, then check the registrar is available the same day. Good luck!

Yes of course, we planned our wedding in 8 weeks. Took us a week to find the venue so absolutely. Just depends if they have the date available and if there’s a registra available in your area x

It depends. Our venue was booked up 25 months in advance. We got our date due to a cancellation.

I booked mine with six WEEKS notice. We suddenly decided to move to Portugal on a whim and got married the November before last, two months before emigrating. If we'd stayed in England, we'd have got married last June. My father died last April, so I'm really glad that we decided to move, otherwise I wouldn't have had my father to walk me down the aisle.

I booked my venue 18month in advance then had to find somewhere else as our original venue couldn't deal with the agreed number of guests. A lot of places have deals for last minute dates as long as your flexible with the day. I was luck I ended up with a better venue and a better deal with 6 months to go!

We planned and had our wedding all within 8 weeks, we had a good choice of dates at our chosen venue as we booked for February so not so many weddings

UKbride Administrator
UKbride Administrator 4 Mar 2019

Yeah we booked ours early march, married the 31st July.

UKbride Administrator

Think about maybe having it on a Friday, likely be more availability especially if a popular venue. And probably be cheaper too.

UKbride Administrator
UKbride Administrator 4 Mar 2019
