Hello past, future, soon to be brides!! I need some help! I'm 5'2, size 12 on top, size 10 on bottom. Anyone with similar height and body shape, what kind of wedding dress styles did you go for? Pictures and advice would be very much appreciated, thank you in advance!!

Honestly, I'd go into somewhere like Wed2B and just try on a load of different styles. Take a friend who will be honest. See how you feel in them. If you're bigger on top, you may want to avoid strapless or anything too floofy on the top. Mermaid styles tend to work best if you have a well defined waist, if you don't, an A-line with a high waist might work better. But you can absolutely chuck the rules out of the window if the dress makes you feel good!

I'd agree go wed 2 b and try them on. Everyone looks different and likes different things

I'm 5'4 size 10 bottom and 12 top. I went for a corset a line style dress with a bolero jacket on top.

I am slightly taller than you at 5.5" but the same measurements. I went for a tea length dress and absolutely loved it as it seemed to compliment my bodyshape. But try as many styles as you can to find your silhouette and remember that dresses are made to alter so your dress will look beautiful once tailored to you!

I had a medieval style dress made because I just felt awful when I was trying on “normal “ dresses. I thought it would cost a fortune but it ended up being cheaper than any I tried on in the dress shop

I’m the same height and similar in sizes bigger on top, I went for mori lee 5108, I tried on several styles before I settled on this one, it’s nothing like what I’d been looking for either, so go with some ideas but stay open as u never know ☺️

Go into the shops and ask the professionals, and also just have a great day out trying on everything until you find the one!

I am a similar size to yoI, this was my dress. However I do agree with the other ladies when they say to try on lots of dresses. I wanted a curtain style but came out with the complete opposite! Xx

I’m the exact same as you, have a look at my profile pic for mine. I got one dress altered drastically because I couldn’t find one I liked!

I have had to order my dress 2 sizes bigger then me to accommodate my chest and have to find a seamstress to fit it to me after. I’m getting married in June and my dress will be ready in the shop in March. So if you have to do this you need to leave enough time so you aren’t stressing about it xx

I’d say go and try a few different styles on. Good bridal shops will give you plenty of time in an appointment to try. I did this, found the style I liked then looked on Stillwhite.co.uk for what I wanted for a fraction of the price. Good luck!!

I’m only 5 foot and wore a size 10 - I found that Wed2Be wasn’t that great for me because the dresses didn’t seem to fit well. I had a lot more success going to boutiques. I bought a Ronald Joyce xx

I am 5ft 2 and size 12. Mine is a Stella York. I tried on all sorts of shapes and dresses in different fabrics and colours to find the one that suited. I thought I knew what I wanted and ended up with something very different. X

I’m 5’3 and bigger up top and I’ve gone for a trumpet/ mermaid/ fish tail which is everything I thought I didn’t want, but I loved how it made my figure look even better, I wish I could wear it everyday!!

I'm alot bigger up top than my bottom half so went for a strapless and more fitted at the.bottom half. It had to be taken in alot to accommodate my larger top my seamstress got it fitted like a glove

I'm the exact same as you! So far the most flattering style for me personally is a column style dress. Shows off the smaller waist but flows off the bum for a perky looking bottom 😜 also with heels i look taller 😁 All the best in your planning xxx
