How much have you budgeted for your wedding cake? I'm not wanting something over the top but dont really know how much the average is.
From all the quotes I have received most guide prices are around £100 per tier. I personally think that the price people charge for wedding cakes are ludicrous particularly as like you I'm looking for something simple but elegant
We have paid £410 for a 4-tier cake with chocolate cigarello and fresh flower decoration instead of fondant icing.
I've paid £250 for my wedding cake with 3 tiers and £50 for 24 cupcakes x
Waitrose or Marks and Spencer’s, £100-£250ish xx
We paid £275 for 3 tiers 3 different favours per tier and 70 cupcakes xx
Ours was 250 for bespoke 3 tier with different sponge for each tier
We didn’t have a “normal” wedding cake but it was enough for 160 people and it cost us £170 we budgeted £200 and we were lucky to find a local independent baker who made us this beauty ️
We paid £350 for a 3 tier hexagonal cake, very plain with a small design on it. Just had a cream filling, no jam. We also had about 25 cupcakes, that was included in the £350. Xxx
This was our cake, it had a smaller tier that was separate for us to take home. Cost £150 xx
This was mine and cost £415. The bottom tier was 12inch fruit cake which on their own are very expensive. I then had a vanilla layer, cherry bakewell and carrot cake layers.
I'm not telling them its a wedding cake so they don't hike the price up £200 like everyone does! I'm just saying it's for my 30th birthday as we are having a chocolate cake simular to this but only 4 tiers.
Ours is £290 for 3 tiers... each one a different flavour. Plus we have a great design so really good for what we want made
We were getting quotes of £300 plus, instead we are having a doughnut tower with a small semi naked cake on top for cutting. Costing less than £100.
Marks & Spencers and decorating ourselves after my cake maker decided she wanted to hike the price up
Mines cost about £75 I had a M&S bottom tier with a large handmade cheesecake on the top along with 70 mini individual cheesecakes. All made by a local company x
We’re just gonna hit adsa and buy loads of cakes a few days before!
We have paid £120 for this but loads more detail to be added (: x
Our cake was £475 - 4 tier and enough to feed 150 people for dessert (which it did!) (We're also in London if that affects price)
Mine's £350 for a three teir cake, plus kitchen cake in a modern style. Each with different flavour and filling x
M&S gluten free, £50 cake
We're asking people to bring desserts and we're going to judge them bake-off style so all we've done is budget £50 for prizes.
290 for a beautiful 3 tear cake 3 different sponges
Mines £100 serves 100 3 tiers
140.00 if remember right for ares xx
We had 3 tiers and a sheet cake at it cost us £350, that was with mates rates as well though, I think it should have been closer to £500
We paid around £450 for ours I believe! It had a lot of detail on the back too! Each tier had different flavour cake and buttercream!
Our 3 tier, 3 flavoured cake is costing us £175 as were using someone who does it as a hobby rather than a business. I had prices of £450 for the exact same cake from elsewhere.
We paid £180 for this including all decorations, delivery and set up at venue - two layers of vanilla sponge with baileys cream, one layer of lemon cake and one layer of chocolate. 😊
I did get quoted £300 from the first place I chose which ended up closing down just before the wedding and scamming loads of people out of their money and cakes. I then got quoted £280 from somewhere else as well. Make sure you look around, do a bit of research on the companies and get various quotes before deciding 😊
I get married two weeks Saturday.. My cake is costing me £200. Three layers three flavours. Also being delivered and set up. Which is easy as I live a two minute walk from my reception venue and my cake maker lives in between me and the venue..
£265 mine was x
Are any of these cake bakers in Hertfordshire as I’ve had 2 quotes on a half naked cake and they’re coming up at around £350 with a few fresh flowers for decor which is quite expensive in comparison to all of yours which seem to be fully iced with beautiful decor!
I’d be interested to know xx
Another option is to ask someone to bake it? I am really good at decorating cakes so I volunteered to help my sisters friend; she made a heap of cupcakes and I decorated them and we did it as a gift for my sisters wedding.
Ours will be £350 at the most (basic cake nice sponge simple deco x
You can ask for a dummy tier which reduces cost x
Ours is £385 for 4 tiers in all different flavours and different buttercreams flavours enough for 160 people x
I’m going naked with fresh flowers and fruit and my mum is making it :-)
4 tiers all different flavours naked wedding cake with flowers and fresh fruit £270
We got married on sat, this was our cake £300 for 4 different flavoured tiers and the topper. It was huge x
This was ours, cost £360. Each tier was a different flavour.. I was quoted nearly £700 for this which would have been plain icing with the car and ‘mud’ on the side
I recommend Kitty's Cakes on fb. But depends where you are x
We are having one like this with fruit top and 100 cupcakes. Its costing £270 x
Mine's a 5 tier cake using 3 different flavours and we were quoted £950, £860 and £550
It depends what you want really and how much detail/decoration you require. General rule of thumb is the simpler the cake the less the price! We're paying £260 for enough for 80 guests (it will serve as our desert in the evening) which we thought was pretty reasonable as we are having quite a lot of decoration and price includes delivery and set up? A 'naked' cake or barely iced cake would cost far less I would imagine and is bang on trend!
Ours was about £370 for 120 mini cupcakes and a top tier, all red velvet. As people were taking the cakes the tiers were being replenished.
Look at Sainsbury’s, Asda, M & S and Tesco they all do separate wedding cake sizes at reasonable prices that you can customise yourself. Good luck ...
£190 and then im buying cake board £12 and wedding topper £15 seperate x
Ours is very similar to this
