Has anyone done route 66 please? As a honeymoon, holiday anything? We are looking at potentially doing route 66 and getting married whilst in Vegas, but it's a mine field! I'm so confused! Also what best time of year would be, we were looking at October next year. Thanks
I did it for my 30th had a great time lots to see and do only let down was L.A. we had 3 days there wish we had had longer at the grand canyon and Vegas. I planned all mine with hays travel they were great even made sure we had nice hotels.
We were going to, but decided it was a lot of driving in a short space of time. So decided on a disneymoon instead!! 😂😂 hope you do it, that would be amazing. Xx
We were looking at Route 66 for our honeymoon but I wanted something a tad more relaxed!! Maybe worth looking at a company that solely does Route 66! We needed 3 weeks because we’re adding on SAN Fran drive & Alcatraz visit so it’s something I’m saving for my retirement in 10 years time
We went as a late honeymoon, didn’t do Route 66 but a west coast road trip starting at San Francisco. We went to Yosemite, Vegas, Disney, LA and Santa Monica too. We went in October last year and the weather was beautiful, also not too busy because it wasn’t holiday time, apart from Disney, although that was our fault we went on Friday 13th!
Las Vegas is fab, there’s so much to do! We did look at Route 66 but you need at least 3 weeks to do it x
We were looking at doing it on motorcycles but would want to go with a company that organises the whole thing and it was just too expensive together with the wedding. Might be cheaper if you were driving but I would still want to do it with a company that knows what to do and see along the way or you could miss so much. If you go then I do hope you have a wonderful time.
Myself and my Hubby have just got home after travelling Route 66. Was the best 3 weeks of our lives. We didn’t use a company, we flew into Chicago collected the car and hit the road... there are signs for Route 66 the whole way from East to West, the satnav will always take you the highways but try and find the back roads as that’s the original Route 66 (some have been taken over by highways)... there is so much to see. Download the Route 66 app too and buy a Route 66 map. Shows you the back roads and suggestions of famous things to see in each state. Good luck, and let me know if you I can give anymore advice!!
