Any tips from brides who did/are doing their own makeup? Did you get a lesson before hand? Are there any makeup products that a relative novice should get? TIA x

Get a good setting spray to keep it in place, waterproof mascara etc. Do a few trials you will probably be nervous on the day so give extra time in case you make mistakes and need to redo it.

I did my own and it looked really nice, I was very pleased. Get a good setting spray, I had one from Makeup Revolution, sprayed it in between layers of makeup. Also get a nice highlighter and apply it on your cheekbones, browbone, tip of the nose, cupid bow etc. Gives you a nice glow and looks lovely in pictures. I had eyelash extensions as well, but they were applied at a salon beforehand. I've also shaped my brows with a Makeup Revolution tint thingy. Watch a few tutorials on youtube. I'm sure you'll be fine xx

By the time you spend money on decent make up you could probably afford a make up artist to do it for you x

I have booked in for a make up lesson from lancome in boots. It cost £20 which u have to put as a deposit and once the lesson is over it goes towards the products that you buy! x

Make sure you test that your foundation has no white flash back. Otherwise your face will come out very white on photos

Use a great primer too, I use benefit porefessional, it’s stops shine and it can be applied over your actual makeup later on in the day. Also use blotting paper to remove shine practice the look before hand and get your bridal party to be honest with the look xx

Don't use a foundation with SPF. It flashes white in the photographs. Otherwise, good primer, good brushes, good setting spray

My wedding day was the second day I’ve ever made my full face of makeup. The day before my wedding being the first! I went very simple and talked to the Ester Lauder ladies who helped me no end

Great idea.. Spend a little extra money to get good quality make up & you get to keep it after!! Practice before & leave longer on the day to do it than you usually need.. You defo don't want to feel rushed! X
