We have 5 children ageing from 9 to 17 and it's tough but if you budget and don't splash out or treat yourself to often it's possible. And work all the hours god sends .

We have 4 kids aged between 1 & 14. It’s hard but by cutting back on treats and budgeting well you can do it.

I'm having the same nightmare at the moment I want to get married Dec 2019. I have 3 kids age 18,15 and 3 and a fortnight in the sun coming up in Aug. We have no savings but we will be able to afford the wedding we want. It's just the deposits we are having problems with. I don't want to lose the venue of my dreams but most seem to want a big lump sum at least 12 months in advance I'm worried I won't get the venue I want now

I have a 17mo and we are getting married Oct 2019. I’m not going to lie it’s hard, I’ve taken on more hours at work (I work evenings and weekends) and my partner is doing over time. We barely see each other atm but it’s important to us not to get into debt over our wedding. It’s a short term sacrifice to marry the love of my life x

We have put a deposit down for a £1500 for my dream venue but now now we are having a hard time finding the rest with a 13 year old needing clothes for summer and a 7 month old that eats everything in sight. Finding it impossible at the moment.

First thing you should do when planning a wedding is see what you can afford to save, get budgets set and then work your date around that. We were engaged 4 years before we could even think about getting married. We sat down, figured what we could put away each month and got a date set for just under two years later. It's happening now in 5 months and were still on track. We've cut back on a few luxarys but with planning the wedding and buying little bits as we go along it's not been that noticeable so don't feel like we've sacrafised a lot x

We've got an 18 month old and we are getting married this August. We aren't having a big occasion as it's more about us than everyone else. Our budget is not massive so eBay is a wonderful place lol

We are getting married in June and have a 5 and 2 year old. You just cut back in the things you buy that you don't need and save anything spare. I haven't scrimped on what we are having at the wedding. Everything we wanted we are having so it's not impossible xx

We are getting married October this year and our twins are due in 3 weeks time. We are doing a lot of decorations ourselves to save money

Thank you everyone. I’ve started a wedding fund so odd change will be going in.

I have 3 children and all I can say is that you just ask friends for help with making stuff and take any freebies.

I have a 7yr old, too.. (And my h2bs hours were cut at work same week that we had booked it... )
But we have chosen a simple registry office wedding.. Had help little help from mums & done everything we could cheap as possible.. My gown is vintage, even has a train.. veil, stockings & shoes & 3 vintage brides maid dresses & 3 flower girl dresses, tiras, hair pins & jewelery all off eBay.. Done own flowers from local maket altered my dress myself with mum pinning it for me & made own invites & favours.. Biggest expense is the cars cause we have big wedding party & a mini bus was same price as 2 Daimlers. But thought they would look nicer. Mother in law is paying for Hog Roast & making our cake.. We found skipping a take away, or going alcohol free for a weekends, Any birthday or christmas gift money we received, & every £2 coin got in change was all put in pot.. Thats what we do, so far its paid for ceremony & room.. Banns & deposits on cars, pub function room. & almost got enough for mine & mums & bridesmaids hair to be styled... Just rest of fees, local hotel for 2nights & males outfits & shoes to buy. Photographer & Dj to pay. But Getting there slowly.. Will be done by July.. Ready for August!! 😊 it is do able just have to be realistic with expectations & give yourself enough time to save.. I am not into bling.. Posh do would make me uncomfortable & we wanted a relaxed party feel.. 🤞sun will shine.. Good luck & best wishes for the future..
