Hi guys Just wondering are you having a videographer for your wedding? I'm on the fence as we already have a photographer & the videographer's are the same price.... Not sure if I can afford both. But also I'm thinking of having a Snapchat filter for the day & would encourage our guests to film if they wanted. Advice please
100% the memories from both a videographer and photographer are priceless!
If you can squeeze the money, I would personally say do it. You get to watch all the moments you didn’t see on the day and something you can keep and watch forever.
If you can’t afford it ask family/friends to record bits of the day.
The video will be something for you and your partner to keep and enjoy rather than spending money out on your guests all of the time
Good luck xxx
Yes we are. Have just today booked. Very excited! X
The videographer was the first supplier I booked. It was a no brainer. When I look at my H2B's old family weddings I immediately want to watch the videos over seeing the photos as they bring the people to life. He even has a wedding film dating back to 1926! That beats ANY photo! I would have loved to see my own parent's wedding but they only have photos, which are fine, but video captures a lot more than photographs IMO
I had my first wedding recorded & can honestly say in 10years we were married we watched it 2x.... Thankfully it was done by friend & didnt cost us anything...
I would 100% recommend a videographer. I made a last minute decision to have one and I think if was the best one I made! X
I didn't want a videographer to begin with, but it was the best decision we made! It brings you right back to the day, we got a 4/5 minute film as part of the package and it's fab. Then watch the longer version on a special occasion etc. In hindsight, I'd personally choose it over other things! We used Full Colour Films - give them a shout!
I have both I think a video is a fab thing, to watch for you and future family, I still love watching my parents and they’ve been married 30 years this year x
Last minute decision for us and the best idea ever.
I had an amazing photographer and chose to not have a videographer due to funds. I did however have a tripod set up that videoed all of our vows and someone else videoing from their seat so we got an all round view to have edited. We didn't have speeches so didn't need the meal or anything videoed and we don't regret it x x
My biggest regret is not bein able to watch our perfect wedding day over and over again. In years to come lots of people can watch it too. We had an amazin photographer but it didnt capture all the memories made that day like a video would have done. Xx
Yes we are! Ellen Jackson Weddings & Dan Waters Creative Photography 🙂 both awesome companies and people! Well priced and will make our wedding fabulous x
We have a wonderful photographer whos also my friend as married to a close friend. We have booked a videographer too as watched some he has already filmed and they are brilliant :-) x
Just having a photographer I think a videographer first thing in the morning would be to stressful for me
We weren’t going too, but I kept thinking I’d rather have one and never watch it than want to watch our day back and not have it. So we booked one and it was one of the best decisions we made about our wedding. Also the kids love watching it and put it on every morning for about 2 months! It’s the little things you miss that make the day and it nearly brings me to tears every time we watch it if you’re in the south west I’d defo recommend Heather Bailey - Wedding Photography & Film she was fab on the day and the finished product is perfect.
I too was on the fence but in the end was so glad we did. Reliving the day on screen and seeing things we missed was absolutely priceless
We didn't hire someone as we didn't think we needed it, but thankful a family friend videoed it for us. Pictures are lovely but there's nothing like hearing the voice of a loved who is now gone. He also captured my improptu wedding speech unfortunately lol. X
I was on the fence too, but I spoke to a lot of people and they said that if you can afford one have one because they’ll be a lot of things as a bride that I’ll miss such as groom/guests arriving at ceremony and I didn’t want to miss that xx
We booked one last weekend, so pleased we have.. will be lovely to see things that we don’t see on the day
We were on the fence too as it seemed like an added expense but it was by far the best thing we did! To be able to watch those memories back really is priceless. We only booked ours 12 weeks before the wedding! Jolly good wedding videos did ours and it’s incredible x
Having videographer but a much less expensive one than photographer. The one thing I’ve seen absolutely everywhere are pages/people saying they massively regretted not having a wedding video.
My future sister in law hired a few camcorders and had the guests filming and then professionally edited. The video was absolutely amazing, very natural and captured so many special and spontaneous moments that I don't think would have been captured if it wasn't for the guests recording. We are doing the same for our wedding x
I'm not having a videographer, a photographer is enough surely? Honestly, if you can't fit it into your budget, don't bother. Smartphone cameras are pretty good these days! You can do something like allow people to film with their phones after the ceremony, get the vids, and compile them yourself on the ol' computer.
Our wedding dj has just started doing wedding videography as well so we’ve managed to book him for a really cheap price!
My photographer had the option of a videographer. We are awaiting both but I'm so glad I did already. I knew the quality of work of my photographer/videographer husband and wife team before I went with them. I got offered various deals by various people, but their work wasn't good enough. I am almost 2 months to the day after my wedding and there is already so much I am wondering about that I didn't see. I know both aspects will catch it. For myself and my husband photos and videographer were important and a non-negotiable, but to each their own xx
A Snapchat filter for the day how do you do that? I'm not having a videographer can't see the point in that expense I can produce a video from my photos if I want to xx
I'll be honest I would definitely recommend a video. There is SO much you miss throughout the day that you don't realise you miss until you watch the video back. I friend didn't have one and really regretted it and you can't go back to get one. I would highly recommend you do x
We have booked both a photographer and videographer to capture our day. They are the things that will last forever. Also a photographer captures a moment, a videographer can bring it to life xx
If your interested in getting a Snapchat filter made for the day you can do it here:
Best decision we made getting a videographer watched it more than weve looked at our wedding album captures little things that u forget about on the day x
We wanted one but it is just so expensive. We are going to hire a load of go pro cameras instead and give them to certain people. Then we will pay to have it professionally edited. Going to be hundreds of pounds cheaper!
