When you went to find your dress.... did anyone have that “wow” moment where you knew it was the one, or did you just find a nice dress that woukd do?
I can honestly say I had the "Wow" moment, I had a real hard time picturing myself in dresses as my body shape is nowhere near close to bridal model pictures. My dress looks completely different (and better!!) on than in pictures where the model is wearing it. So pleased with it and can't wait to wear it x
I had the wow too but it is way out of my price range. And now nothing I try is a comparison to it 😭
The wow moment happened, I didn’t even get it on and I knew it was the one. I always thought the whole wow thing was a load of rubbish, so true though
I felt like I didnt need to try anything else on abd thats how I knew :) My Mum said I looked so much more comfortable in it too than the other ones I tried
Definately had the wow moment with the first dress I tried on. Tried on lots more "just in case" but nothing came close
I got mine of eBay, so didnt get to try it on til it arrived in post.... But i couldnt wait. I think its beautiful, Keep trying it on now its here.. Cant wait for my h2b & guests to see me.. I am not normally into girly things but when my h2b asked me, He said will you be my bride, & that is exactly what he is getting.. real gown ( not home made like my last 1) Beautiful veil & tiara... Gonna be Queen for the day at 47, this will be my last chance to get it right...
Mines just a nice dress that I liked - cost £100 it was only fir one day so I couldn't justify the crazy cost of some dresses
I found a lovely dress, I liked it and felt lovely in it but it wasn't THE one.....the one I fell in love with was over a £1000 and after going away and thinking about it couldn't bring myself to spend all that money. If I had the money yes I would have got that one. But it didn't ruin my wedding day, and don't regret it. x
i wouldnt say wow like in the movies but it felt right and everyone liked it
I had the Wow moment and I had only had my daughter 6 weeks earlier so was feeling fat and horrible but in my dress I felt amazing and I tried it on again on Monday and still felt amazing with 3 stone weight loss. Hope you get your Wow moment aswell and congratulations xx
The dress I ended up having I tried on 5 times. Figured I've tried it on 5 times, I must like it..!
I knew as soon as I put the dress on...
fabulous feeling can't wait for my h2b to see me in it xx
It was the first ever dress I tried on, all the others I found something wrong with and I was desperate to try the first one on again. First place I went to as well, but wasn’t expecting it xx
I had the I like the dress hate the colour! So they got it in ivory instead of “blush” and it was WOW!!! Totally different dress!! Don’t be afraid to try them all on!!!
I got everything I wanted and didn’t want! I hate it when people look at a dress and turn there nose up, try it on, you’ll be surprised! X
I think it depends on your normal shopping style. For me I have to see everything before I decide so even when I thought I'd found my dress it was wow this is great but I have to see everything else first. So if you don't normally get a have to have it at all costs approach I don't think you'll get it for your wedding dress x
I didn’t think i’d have a wow moment but after trying on my dress last weekend I didn’t want to take it off to try on anything else
I knew my dress was the one because I didn't want to take it off! And you don't stand there umming and arring as to whether you like it. It's instant!
I tried on about 7 dresses in the same shop the first one I picked was the last one I tried on and I instantly knew it was the one. Xx
Wow x
I have had mine designed and made from scratch so I guess my wow moment will be when I see the drawing as an actual gown. I couldn’t find what I really wanted so went to a dressmaker instead, and it has cost me so much less than getting it from a store and it’s exactly what I want 🙂
I cried twice ... and I don’t do tears ... it’s started when I was putting it on x
I had a wow moment! I had tried about 10 dresses in all. Some were nice and would do but didn't feel overly 'bride' in any of them. The lady who was with me in the shop pulled one out of the back room as they were sending it to be cleaned she brought it in and it was beautiful. As soon as I put it on I knew. I was totally silent whilst she was doing the back up and knew straight away that was the One!
This is gonna sound weird but my dress found me...tried quite a few on but nothing felt right... went to have another look and saw a dress squeezed into the corner...pulled it out, tried it on and that was the one. Didn't get that 'wow' but it just felt right. Totally different to anything else i've seen. Have I had dress wobbles? Yes. Can't wait to wear it tho.
Wow
I had a wow moment after I had tried on about 40 dresses untill then I thought "this is nice" and thought maybe I just wasn't going to have that feeling but when I finally did I knew x
Wouldn't say I had the wow moment but I knew which was my dress as soon as I tried it on. Mother tried to make me try on loads more dresses but I ended up with the one I wanted. Which is odd as when I went dress shopping I only chose it as it was odd and I needed one more to try on. It wasnt something id go for and wasnt keen on it on the hanger but loved it when it was on.
My wedding isnt till 2020 havent booked anything yet and only went to try on dresses to stop me worrying about it. So now I have my dress and have to save and book everything else haha
I nearly cried and tried it on twice, didnt want to take it off 😍
Definitely wow
Wow moment! Was first dress I tried on too 💕 I tried 6 other dresses on after just to be sure 🙊 When you know.. you know!
I had a wow moment in a dress. However my mum made me go away and think about it and she was right £1300 was to much. I found a dress half the price that I still feel good in and I don't regret it at all xx
I put it on and I didn't want to take it off. I kept stoking the fabric and the beading and I couldn't stop smiling. It wasn't a teary say yes to the dress moment, but when I realised I had to take it off I knew I wasn't going home without it :)
100% had the wow moment. I'd liked some before but it was obvious when I found the one
I would say mine was less of a “wow” but more of a “this is the dress” but it only happened when they put the long veil on me before that I was just thinking ‘this is a dress that ticks all the boxes for what I want’
Everyone should get the ‘wow’ moment.. I wasn’t expecting it.. first shop I tried on a dress I didn’t even like.. had 1 type of style in mind but literally ended up having the ‘wow’ moment in a dress I never would have even picked out. To me it’s absolutely perfect 😍 had appointments with other stores but literally didn’t even want to try any more dresses on cause I just knew 😊 you will have your ‘wow’ moment if you haven’t already trust me ❤️
I found a dress that wow me but was just to costly for one day so got an alright dress off eBay for a fraction of the price.
I did yesterday...it was the 4th dress I tried on and I burst into tears and couldn't say anything apart from Oh my God 😂
I thought id found my dress untill i tried it on again.....and hated eveything about it! I think i just got caught up in the moment i then found another dress witch she had just got in that day and once it was on i knew it was "the dress" x
I was scared I wouldn’t get the wow but I did last weekend! I was so pleased ️
I bought mine loved it went to get bridesmaid dresses yesterday and ended up with another dress I didn't want to take it off x
I did all my research on-line as I couldn't bear to think of traipsing round shops and trying loads of dresses on. I found a dress that ticked all the boxes and ordered it and was thrilled that when it came it looked wonderful on me. It wasn't a wow moment but I love it so much and am so looking forward to wearing it that I have told H2B I might want to sleep in it. LOL
Bought my dress today and I wouldn’t say I had the “wow” moment as it didn’t fit me quite right but I know when it’s been altered will look amazing, but I didn’t wanna take it off so I knew it was the one
I only tried on 1 dress and burst into tears. I didnt bother with any others. And i never cry !
I knew I'd got the right one when my friend couldn't look directly at me because it made her cry haha
I had to try mine on a second time before I had a Wow moment
Long story short, I wanted a “blush” dress; but they only had the dress I had seen in Ivory, so I turned it down. Tried on a different dress that was in blush & hated the colour on me! So went back to the Ivory & got tingles!!!
Sometimes, you can be so blinded by an idea, that you total surpass what you ACTUALLY want!
First one that caught my eye & first & last dress I tried on I got that wow & didn't try any other on x
I had my “wow” moment with a dress that was the polar opposite of what I went in to find, and I still feel that same feeling whenever I see it
I can honestly say I did have thay moment, I went into the shop and they had NONE of the dresses I wanted to try on so I just tried loads of different ones on and the one I ended up getting was my mum's pick and it was one I said I hated on the website... The dress genuinely took my breathe away I can't wait to wear it
I loved mine but it was the first dress I had tried on so was reluctant to go for it kept looking around and it was the dress I just kept going back to so I knew it was the one
I had the wow moment! I was overwhelmed as it was the 3rd dress I'd ever tried on and I knew the first two were never going to be my dress. Every bride should have that wow moment.
I had the wow moment. But was expecting my mum to cry 😂
I had mine made so I had to think differently - tried on a load & had to think about what it would end up looking like after all the changes & alterations
Oh Zoe you no wen you have found the one xx
I found two with the wow moment. One in the style I wanted and knew everyone else was expecting. The other was a dress completely different style and shape that I was looking for that no one would expect. I went for the one that no one would expect. I cannot wait to wear it!!!
Brought my dress today and it was the 6th one i tried on. I loved it when i put it on my friends who were with me said that they knew i likes it because the smile i had on when they pulled the curtain back.
I will just add that i had discontinued the thought of wearing a shorter dress but i went with an open mind and tried on everything.
The dress ive chosen is a short one and its bloody beautiful! x
I had my woe moment in a dress completely different to what I wanted lol xx
As soon as the assistant pulled my dress off the rack, I said that’s “the one” x and it fitted perfect, I didn’t need any alterations x
I was a bit like that too begin with found a dress thought that wud do then my MofH said we go to this shop as was another dress she wanted me to try on thats wasnt the dress i choose in the end was a dress the shop owner picked out i wudnt even thought bout trying on but i did and just fell in love with it.x
I knew what I wanted and not sure about the wow factor... but I'm not a dess person and the dress I've picked is the closest I've managed to find in the style I want.. plus I feel super comfortable and confident in it..
Xx
I picked my dress out purely on the colour and when she took it out of the bag I thought 'oh dear that's not what I want'. But once I saw myself in it I thought 'wow! This is it!'. Can't wait to wear it in 6 months
I was desperately searching for the 'wow' moment and it didn't happen. There are so many stunning dresses available and i went with an open mind and tried a lot. I ended up choosing the one that felt most comfortable and that I would have the most fun in. I made sure I danced around the shops and sat down in each dress I tried to see which I could eat and party in. Paired with some navy blue converse to match my the colour of my bridesmaids dresses I felt totally comfortable and like the best version of myself and had such a perfect day.
I had a wow moment. The one I had fallen in love with online did nothing for men & I didn’t like it on. Then I tried on another one that I liked but wasn’t my first choice & it blew me away. My best friend & mum who were with me even said wow.
My advice is try on something that isn’t necessarily what you’d go for cos it can look so much different when it’s on xxx
Chilli H, your dress is spectacular!
Yes and no... I had been set on wearing a certain style of dress, then in the bridal shop I bought my dress from, I asked the owner on a whim what sort of dress she would put me in - It was amazing and I loved it. I got a bit teary in the car ride home
Found a nice one that would do...I found the whole experience so draining and uncomfortable that I didn't actually try many on or look in many shops. Once I found one that I really liked that was it because I never wanted to set foot in a bridal shop or have to try on an uncomfortable dress ever again! Luckily the dress looks lovely and i look forward to wearing it on the day but I wouldn't say it was a wow moment.
What I've learnt now from trying on 20 dresses. The one I knew was right was when I "swished"
I I wished the dressed side to side while standing still it was the one. Luckiky I did it in one dress.
That's the one I bought.
I definetly had that WOW moment with mine, it was something I liked soon as I walked but we carried and looking around and I tried a few on before I actually went to try the 1 I purchased. Soon as I did I didn't want to take it off! xx
