I have found wedding invitations that I really like but unsure if to spend that kind of money on them or not as they just get put in the bin anyway. How do other people feel on this?

Hi we can't afford to overspend so we are getting the best we can afford :)

Make your own, at least you know what you like and can add your own touch

Depends how much they are. I saw some lovely ones at a fair but the were £6.50 each so it was a definite, thanks but no thanks. We had ours done at a normal printer and had them done bespoke and they were cheaper than anywhere else I found (less than £1 each)

If you really love them maybe get the really fancy ones for close family members and get a different type for everyone else

Some guest keep them. But we are on a budget so not going over board with them. I'm doing invitations for the day guests(30) and save the dates for evening (70 )

Have a look at small local businesses and printers. I had beautiful invites custom made (I designed them) for a third of the prices of online producers and I got to spend the money at a local business win win.

I had a quote of what I wanted but there was no way I was going to pay that price. I am now making my own.

We found invites online and in shops really over priced. We couldn't find any that we liked and weren't breaking the bank. So my best friends mum made ours and they were 100X better than any of the ones we'd seen

I used an online thing to create my own design for free then printed em on my home printer with card, I wouldn't pay for invites, like you way they end up in the bin anyway

I looked for ages for invites to match my ideas of what I wanted.. Kept getting ridiculous quotes... When in a tight budget I couldn't justify too much on a piece of card... In the end I found some on amazon.. Cost £35 roughly for 100 invites 100 save the dates 100 rsvps.... I added extra bits into the invite like and intinary and a poem for wedding gift ideas (money for honeymoon) a friend printed me out labels to put on my rsvps so I didn't have to write my address out or get lots of people asking what it was... The extras cost about £10 for paper and card.. I am happy with them and my guests have liked them...

I knocked up my own using Microsoft office so they were really cheap and exactly what I wanted. Invitations are crazy expensive otherwise and I’m way too tight 😂

We have made our own. 50 pack of card for 12£ and envolopes 4£. H2b has designed them so we just need to print them 🙂 I begrudge paying the cost some places charge. The card will also do for table numbers and table plan etc 🙂

I like them but not sending any. I'm private messaging everyone instead. Saving the money towards my dress as on a budget

I've bought my day and evening invites and making my own wedding menu list and RSVPs to go inside them. This has meant I've spent £1.60 per invite instead of the potential £3.50 per invite!

Making my own works out to less than £20 for 50 cards

We did ours through vista print. Not paying a fortune for something that’s going to get thrown away. X

I think the money can be spent better elsewhere! We did a video invite and emailed it out. Cost nothing and everyone loved it!

On vistaprint they do lovely invitations for only 43p each, think it was £45ish for 100 invites. Which isn't to bad and it's just easy

I’m getting mine from Swift-Hart Boxes, they have a beautiful selection of invites and very reasonable prices, take a look at their website and see what you think x

We recorded a video one and emailed it - seemed like so much money to have them thrown away

It depends whether it’s sligtly over your budget or way over. I’ve found some lovely ones but they’re an extra £30. I’m going to splurge!
