1) How did you all choose your Reception venue? 2) Anybody got any suggestions for a theme which could combine History, Music, & Disney?.. Or any combination of the three?

I wanted a private venue. So that limited it a lot, as definitely didn't want to get married at a hotel. Then it was based on the gardens and outside space the venue had as i wanted vintage fair games/garden games. It all depends on what you're looking for and your budget. X

You could take inspiration from Disney’s the frog princess and have a 1920s theme running through your wedding with the swing and jazz music and the fashion then pick a venue that suits the period

My music in the background for dinner included Disney love songs and the tables were named after Minnie mickey Pluto goofy Donald and daisy. Also had a Disney cake. eBay and Etsy were useful. I had completely Disney themed we used card and a Micky hole puncher to make Disney confetti.

Our theme is Minnie Mouse and captain america because that’s our favourite thing so we’re gonna decorate the venue with that sort of stuff, cake, centre pieces etc.. we looked at every venue near us despite the price and the look etc and based it on if it’s worth the money or if it was what we wanted (size, area, and must have disability access) and now we have a beautiful venue at a really good price!! We’re also having a CD playing during wedding breakfast of our favourite songs (karaoke style) until the night so starts and the DJ comes in, we’re also getting married in a church which works out better for everyone, me and my fiancé met on the bus so we’re having the bus take our day guests from the church to the venue (thanks to him being a bus driver and can make this happen).. once you thing of one idea, you’ll think of everything! Get on google and ask friends/family help!

We wanted a vintage themed wedding, small and intimate as not a huge guest list. Something where we could get married, have the reception and stay. We found our venue accidentally, hardly anyone knows about it. We paid £250 deposit to save the date and we've been paying monthly payments (so much better for us). Everything is included in our package even down to favours, but we still get full rein on choice we don't have to pick from a 'package' xx

You could do the History of Disney Music. Start from maybe when they first started to the present day, pick a song from each era and use those as a table name with the date?

You could always book a historical venue and use Disney as the theme as that then ties in the musical side too
