Oh Wow! I've just won a first dance lesson from a competition I entered when I was at a local wedding fair. Just wondering what dance I should ask to be taught. Any suggestions as to what might be the easiest? Waltz? Swing?

Walts would be easier but swing more up beat and fun. Would depend on what kind of couple you are z

Just tell them your song and what sort of dress you are wearing and let them worry about the rest.

It depends on what your first dance song really. Your teacher should be able to tell you what dance fits your music and help you learn a dance to fit. We learned to dance a Viennese waltz for our first dance and it was very fast and spinny! It all depends on your music, what you're wearing and how fast you'll both pick up a routine/ how long you have to learn it x

I would say pick your wedding song which is personal for you 2 and then the dance teacher can choreograph with that song and around yours and your partner's dance ability.

Go in as a blank canvas an go with a flow. X

Foxtrot. We dance to Frank Sinatra and it was lovely.

I've been checking out videos and have decided to go with the waltz. It is the only one I think I MIGHT be able to get H2B to do. Problem is that his daughters all dance and his mother is a dance teacher so I think he is worried he is going to be critiqued. I have suggested we do the dry ice thing on the floor so that it looks like we are dancing on clouds and, most importantly, they won't see our steps too clearly!
