Hello fellow brides! We're getting married in July 2018 and I'm wondering what's the best time to actively start looking for booking the honeymoon? We want to go straight after the wedding, keeping it to a nice hot beach destination in Europe. I've already found some deals but I'm afraid there will be better sales later on, but also don't want to leave it for the last minute..? Thank you in advance!

Depends on if you like to be organised or happy for a last minute deal. We plan to go to Mexico for the day of the dead festival on 2019. We shall start looking next year.

For a good deal on holidays I have being told you get the best price if you wait until 12 weeks before you want to go. So April would be your time to look x

I'm getting married in May 2018 and going on honeymoon in June. I was told by the travel agent to book before the new year as January is when everyone starts booking their summer holidays so things book up fast. We are going to book before 31st Dec. Also, at the moment with some prime destinations not back up and running after natural distasters there are more holiday makers than places available! Not enough supply to meet demand. Hope you have a great honeymoon!

I've heard from a few people that on Xmas day you get amazing offers for holidays. Might be worth a look since it's not too far away!

We are getting married in Sept 18 and booked everything in Sept and October. We are going to Lake Garda so booked flights through Ryan Air, hired a car and booked accommodation through booking.com. Came to approx £900 to £1000 altogether.

Depending when in July you are likely to pay over the odds for a Europe holiday as it's school holidays! It's not a honeymoon but I know my sister will check flights and a resort she likes the look of every other day for a week to see how if prices are dropping or increasing. Some places may have sales on in January tho with the general after Xmas sales!

Get your travel insurance before you book your honeymoon, I am glad we did as the wedding and honeymoon was cancelled and we would have lost the 5 k we spent on the honeymoon .

For a honeymoon in the school holidays last minute deals are only for places no one wants to go we booked our July honeymoon in September and got 1/3 off the price for booking early. Our hotel is now sold out! If I were you I'd book now. Good luck x

Hi. I've just seen this post, and as a travel specialist (I advertise on UKBrides), I always look to give advice here, and of course to be honest with you, pick up the odd booking! I'm not sure if I've already replied to your post, but as you'd expect me to say, it's always better to book early, for many reasons. Yes you'll always hear of people picking up last minute bargains, but they becoming few and far between now. With Tunisia still limited, same with Egypt, and Turkey not everyone's fave ( groundless but there you go), places like Spain are filling up earlier and getting dearer. Also, it's your honeymoon, and you have to decide how important it is to have the holiday YOU want, not whats left on the shelf! I'd be happy to help, you can email me on [email protected] , or message me at Steve Friend - Brilliant Travel. Everything is ATOL protected and so on.
