I have provisionally booked the registry office for 1 in the afternoon. Just wondering what people would suggest to do after as our budget is tight and we don't want the whole wedding breakfast thing. Thanks

Depending on when you getting married but maybe a bbq?

Perhaps an afternoon tea? This tends to be cheaper than a wedding breakfast or a buffet :)

Is there a nice pub nearby? They might be happy to reserve you a small area and then you can invite all your guests for a drink afterwards and they can buy their own food at the pub if they want to eat? Saves on cost and can be flexible but gives you the chance to celebrate afterwards

You can get good deals with some venues that do the straight into party nights.. so you skip the reception/breakfast...

We got married at 1.30 then went to a beautiful local pub and had a roast lunch. They set the tables traditionally for us and it was lovely . x

We hired our village hall for the weekend and did everything ourselves. Saved us thousands and everyone said how nice is was because it was so personal :)

Maybe get your families and close friends to put some food and drink together at your reception venue (if they allow it!) This would save a bit of money and would mean people can chat and nibble whilst you're having your photos :)
