What is everybody doing in terms of gifts for the top table? - Mother/father of the bride/groom best man and maid of honor? - I don't really want to give flowers. Thanks x
Hi we haven't given it a thought yet :)
Hiya Luce,
I have plenty of time to think about it but trying to organise it budget wise!
Just wanted something a bit different :) x
In my mind it should be something personal to each person. If you have plenty of time you have time to suss things out. With Christmas fast approaching it would not be out of order to be asking questions about what people like and don't like.
Im trying to think of personal gifts for them all.
For example my parents love going to the theatre so have bought them tickets for show
We gave " bookfolds" to our best man, and maid of honour
We didnt give gifts on the day we gave them day before as was more intimate and could appreciate their faces etc x
On our top table there will be just bride, groom, our daughter and our parents. My sister is my maid of honour and her 5 kids are my flower girls and page boy and she needs to be sat with them while we eat and the best man's other half doesn't know anyone at our reception so we've kept them all off the top table and the best man can easily come stand next to us to give his speech! I'm still trying figure out gifts and my wedding is next August
I done electric melt for my mum and I did get anything for his father
a voucher for my parents for a hotel stay/dinner personalised pocket mirrors for bridesmaids with a few other small items such as earrings and a bottle of whiskey for dad wine for mum and mum in law and booze for the groomsmen
With the way my mum is, she won't be getting anything.
Others will be something personal
My mum got a Pandora bangle with a sentimental charm on, my dad I got an engraved whiskey decanter. The bridesmaids we gave personalised wooden engraved jewellery boxes and the groomsmen got personalised engraved hip flasks
We brought these as a little something. We have them for the dads and the mums
We got personalised mugs for all adults, personalised teddy bears for our pages boys and chocolate 'flowers' for all sets of parents
As our theme is butterflies I have a butterfly crystal ornament to give to the mums and a poem on a plaque so they can keep them. I got something similar for my moh and the best man is getting a engraved glass.
I'm doing something personal, I know what they like (jack, Yankee candle and liz earle) when all the bits are together put them in a special hamper or box.
