Hi Has anyone got married at around 4 before? We are hoping to have ceremony at 4 and then meal would be around half 6 (maybe?) Just wondering what the timings were like for people and whether they also had an evening buffet or not? Thanks ????
Hi many couples get married at 3pm. but I have not heard aaabout any at 4pm. I think it depends on the registrars availability :)
We’re getting married at 4, at a wildlife park so after our vows we’ll get to walk around the park for about two hours then over to the reception venue for about 6 for celebration drinks and our meal at 7/7.30 x x
My brother got married at 4pm, had a meal as tea-time at 6pm and nothing then for the party.
We’re having our ceremony at 3pm, only feeding guests once then have some dessert stuff out for the early evening xx
We are having a 3pm wedding then travel to the venue pre dinner drinks sit down around 6ish. As yet not planning to have food in the evening
i'm having 4pm ceremony with drinks and canapes and straight through to eve reception with bbq- no wedding breakfast
We got married at 3. We didn’t have a meal just the evening buffet at 7. All our guests knew this and so had lunch before hand. There were nibbles out at the drinks reception.
We are having our ceremony at 4.30 they said this last for around 30mins then photos for an hour to an hour and half while canapés are being served then sit down meal at 6-6.30. Xx
We are having our ceremony at 4 followed by photos. Then a hog roast at 6pm and no evening buffet. Just a sweet cart x
I got married at 4.00, hog roast meal then straight into evening do... Didn't have more food but did have a sweet table so people did have something to nibble on if they wanted it!
The latest ceremony registers do is 5pm xx
We are getting married in December this year, our ceremony is at 3:30pm and then a sit down meal at 5:30pm. In the evening we are having bacon rolls served at 9pm. X
We're getting married at 4p.m. Then straight into buffet 6p.m. and dancing. Everyone I've talked to says that it's a great idea for an informal wedding that we want x
I got married at 4pm ceremony finished at 4:45ish had photos etc by time we got to reception venue it was straight into evening reception and buffet. (We didn't have a sit down meal)
I got married at 1 and had meals at 3.30, the evening buffet was 9 and it barely got touched: it was a huge waste of money. I would advise against evening buffet if your having meals that's late x
We got married at 4.15, had the meal at around 6ish and then had our reception start around half past 7.
So we got married at 4pm, reception drinks/photos & canopies straight after at 4.30pm, our Wedding Breakfast was at 6.30pm speeches 8.30pm evening guests/cut cake & first dance at 9pm and then we had hot cobs and wedding cake at 10pm. It worked really well. All the best x
I got married at 4, reception/evening guests arrived at 5, the food at 6, did it very relaxed as I didn’t want a proper sit down thing, we had a hog roast buffet, food was out till about 8, then the party got started. No evening food as the hog roast was served late enough. Fab day and left plenty of time for getting ready before xx
Originally I was going to have a 4pm wedding with canapés served with the welcome drinks followed by a hog roast about 7pm but ended up having a 2pm wedding and wedding breakfast.
I got married at 3.30 then we had photos and got to the reception at about 5ish then had a cold buffet for when we arrived and a hot buffet later on
We are getting married at 4-30 pm we are also having a buffet
I'm getting married this Saturday!!! At 4pm will let you know how it all goes! Ideally it's church at 4 photos at 4:45/5pm then evening hot buffet at 6, speeches, evening guests arrive at 7:30 cutting of cake, father daughter dance followed by first dance then party all night with bacon and sausage butties and chips being served at 9 for all our evening guests! X
We are planning our wedding for next year. We are getting married at 4pm. By the time we get to the venue it will be 5.30/6 we are having a buffet and hog roast, no sit down meal. We are hoping to serve this from 7.30pm. I am going to make sure that the bridal party are well fed, heading to a local cafe for a fry up for brunch, and making sure there are snacks at the house when we get ready for the kids and adults...
I'm getting married at 3.30 then having a buffet at 5.30 then straight in2the evening reception at 7pm x

We are look at 3pm... cream teas and speeches at 5 then hog roast with trimmings at 8pm x
Nick Jones read comments what I said I wanted to do x
If your having a party afterwards you have to remember the later you get married the shorter your nighttime reception will be. We get married hlf 1 and the day will flow right through until 1 am
I got married at 4pm, did photos and speeches and went straight into evening with a buffet at 7pm no meal x
I got married at 4 then jay a has a night buffet at half 7 x
We're getting married at 10 past 3. Evening meal (pie and mash) at 5.30. Then just bacon/sausage butties at 9.30 for evening guests. So no big 3 course and just a snack later on. Worked out cheaper than doing a 3 course too.
I'll do a dessert table myself x
I'm getting married at 4pm not doing a meal just doing food at reception as on a budget and couldn't pay for both x
We got married at 4pm but didn't have a sit down meal and just had a hot buffet in the evening.
We are getting married at 5pm, no sit down meal, party starts at 7 and buffet at 9 xx
We're getting married at 3.30. Canopies at 4-4.15. Meal at 6pm. Evening buffet served at 10.
Was maid of honour for someone getting married at 4. Wouldn't recommend any evening food, your guests will have just had a 3 course meal only a few hours beforehand. So it's an unnecessary expense. Also, plan for room changes (if same room/venue) to take extra than they recommend. Friends first dance was at 9 rather than 7:30-8 because the room changes took so long. Not a bad thing but definitely something to plan for just in case. Definitely a good day though, more time in the morning to get ready and for photos. Make sure the groom has someone with him as well cause he won't need as much prep as the bride so might be sitting around.
Hi I got married at 4pm followed by Buffett and disco straight after xxx
A friend of mine got married at four, had their ceremony then headed to their reception for afternoon tea and speeches then the evening guests arrived around 7 with a hog roast at 9/9:30 - worked well.

We are getting married at 4. Drinks and nibbles for our wedding party, all guests arriving at 6 For drinks, hot fork buffet around 7 and a big cheese board and soup station coming out around 10, to make sure no one starves! X
We are getting married at 1 sit down meal for 3 then an evening buffet for around 9
My wedding is at 4pm and then we are straight to the evening do! Saves pennies x
Mine was at 11.30am ! I wanted the full day lol
Back in June, we got married at 4:30pm with cocktails for 90mins whilst we had photos then a sit down BBQ at 7pm, it was lovely and as the weather was gorgeous and sunny it was the perfect time of day. We had a “cheese” cake and crackers for nibbles later in the evening. X
I'm doing this! Just evening meal. Then save on a sit down meal. Something I despise doing anyway!
We at MakingmemorieswithTLC.co.uk think that a 4pm wedding is a great way to ensure that there is as little hanging about as possible. We would recommend the wedding breakfast and then some late night munchies like mini pizza and burgers with some fries. However, if you are inviting reception only guests it may be a good idea to let them know so that they don't arrive hungry.
My friend got married around 3pm in a church then went to her venue and had a really nice hot buffet and the party for the very reason she didn't want to pay out for a meal and an evening meal. It worked out lovely xx
We did and it's the one thing k regret x it was over too quick
Yes we did but that was in Australia so that it was not too hot
We got married at 4... speeches around 6:30 then ate about 7... ish lol xxx

My daughter and son in laws was at 4. The ceremony and meal was all in the hotel. We had canapés and welcome drinks after service. Then meal after speeches at 7. Then cut cake for 10pm and had a sweetly trolley.
We're planning to get married at 3, have the reception from 5pm onwards. We're inviting close friends and family only to the ceremony, and everyone to the reception, and have a bbq at around 7ish. Xxxxx
Got married at 4.30pm, had hot buffet style food at 6.30pm and didn't need any buffet later.
