I've always had a summer wedding in mind, with a bright, warm colour theme and lots of sunny outdoor pictures afterwards. As the end of the year's drawing closer I'm remembering how much I love the changing colours of autumn and am thinking how lovely it would be to have an autumn/winter/christmassy wedding! Anyone else started thinking of this?
I'm getting married in January. The weather is usually dry, around 15/16 degrees here in the South East (yes really, I'm not kidding). The only time it's different is when we get unexpected snow, and we would be very happy with that.
We are having an autumn wedding in October. Very close to Halloween.
We are having a Christmas wedding with snowflakes as our theme and getting married in December! I love the Christmas feel!
We're getting married at the start of November as I had the exact same thought. I love the colours and the trees etc and just thought why not!
We are having an autumn wedding! All autumnal colours with navy blue. October 2019!
I originally thought September but decided on October as it was cheaper and the trees have better colours :) xx
We are having a Winter wedding, our theme will be a Winter Wonderland. Hoping it Snow's especially for our Photos.
I’m getting married In November in a barn, all cosy and warm lighting / candles etc
I'm getting married in March because it was in their winter wedding package deal so it was a lot cheaper for us
Beginning of September for us
Oct 26th 2018 for us. We are having berry colours as our theme xx
Autumn and winter wedding are becoming so popular that my venue charge by day of the week rather than season. They were already fully booked for Saturdays in October next year so we settled on beginning of Sept.
We’re getting married 14th October 2019, it’ll be 4 years to the date of our first date & we usually have a pretty good October 🤞🤞 warm colours red, gold & I think navy blue suits for the grooms party 🙂
We got married bonfire night last year, autumn is my favourite time of the year! The colours where beautiful. We ran with the theme (cake in comments)
Also with a summer wedding you're praying for good weather where as for autumn/winter you can plan around the fact that you know it isn't going to be a hot day. There wasn't a drop of rain on our big day!
We had an autumn/winter one and got marries 12th November last year. The sunset is a great photo opportunity as long as you don't mind the cold, it rained, but I wasn't cold as my wedding dress was warm enough :)
21.10.17 for me love the fallen leaves in Autumn
It is exactly 1 year until my wedding, and can't wait (fingers crossed) for a crisp autumn wedding. With reds and oranges in the background of our wedding pictures. We have a blue and gold theme, which will hopefully look stunning against the autumn foliage. X
26th October 17 for me also week before my 40th... love autumn
We got married on 7th December 2012. It snowed in the morning which was beautiful and by the afternoon it was bright sunshine and the snow had gone. We had Christmas baubles as part of the table decorations and had lots of lovely photographs by the Christmas tree at the hotel. Whatever you decide, your wedding day will be fabulous.
Me... but I've booked and paid for August so it's tough ha ha xc
We get married on the 25th november this year. I cant wait. I always dreamed about getting married in the summer outside. But its 3 times as much and theres no garentee it will be nice. I have done a winter theme throughout. We have planned 4 the rain and we couldnt be happier =) xx
We're getting married in autumn in 2 years and I am incorporating it into my theme. Hopefully what I have in my head will work out lol. Good luck planning! X
I am getting wed 22-12-17 x
My wedding was always going to be spring bank or August, however due to one thing and another I’ve opted for an October one. - I love the autumn colours of rustic reds, sunburnt orange and yellow 😍 xxx
I was thinking of a June wedding but you can’t rely on the weather so we have gone for December as the venue will be already decorated with tree, lights etc
My friend had a lovely autumnal wedding and it was beautiful! We are having a early summer wedding and hoping it's just a beautiful. It depends on what you want really
This sounds like my wedding lol! I always dreamed of an outdoor summer wedding, then when we was looking I started to think 'what if it rains' etc...roll on 2yrs later and we are now getting married in the middle of winter on NYE this year and I CANT WAIT!!!!!! Xxx
We are a November wedding (16th) in 2019, I love autumn/winter I'm not a fan of summer and my partner gets really bad hayfever in summer so it made more sense for ours to be in Autumn time. X
Feb 2019 for us I love that tine of year where weather can be brisk but beautiful!
Yes I'm getting married 23.12.18!
We are having a winter wedding. Our venue is a big Manor House with huge fireplaces etc, just beautiful in the winter. I also didn’t want to spend the whole planning process stressing about the weather. If you get married in the UK in the summer, you risk having to change plans last minute as it’s chucking it down with rain. I’m planning an inside, winter wedding so don’t have to factor in the weather
We had an October wedding and the weather was perfect! I wanted a summer wedding originally as I wanted a coral colour scheme but still had coral flowers and they tied in really well x
We got married in October 2 years ago we live autumn and wanted a wedding when it wasn't going to be overly warm so that everyone was comfortable in suits and dresses but also found whilst planning that an added bonus of an autumn wedding is you're not paying the premium on everything like you would a summer wedding (that was our experience anyway) xx
Our daughter gets married 29.12.17. Can't wait.
I'm getting married in December (only 8 weeks to go!) can't wait for it to be all frosty ️️
We are going for end November wedding. Always dreamed of a summer wedding but have fallen in love with winter wedding ideas plus it’s a lot cheaper lol
Getting married in August.
I'm getting married next year on the 28th December 2018. I love Christmas so it's the perfect time 👰🏻
We get married in less than 2 weeks and the weather is lovely right now (although I can't say the same for 2 weeks time! Who knows!). But I'm prepared for bad weather, dresses are long and we have cover-ups and umbrellas just in case. We had a rubbish summer this year and all these poor people paid premium prices for a gorgeous sunny summer wedding and had cold rain. We'll have lots of autumn leaves, sparklers, spiced cider and pumpkins plus we saved ourselves some money by choosing out of season. I can't wait!
Nov 3rd for us, love the dramatic colours and being able to use lots of candles at twighlight to give a romantic haze over everything.
I'm getting married in November and my theme is ivory, peach and baby blue.
Yup! I’ve got an August wedding but liked idea of winter wedding however I think it’ll be cold lol
We married 07.01.07 not even that cold but a bit drizzly, didn’t care one bit. Best day ever
Certainly did we chose 29th December and neither of us would have changed it for the world go for it xx
We're all set for our November 2018 wedding... Love this time of year, beautiful colours and not too hot! 1 year to go! Xx
We having a winter wedding we love Christmas and all the decorations will be up as well as the Christmas trees at our venue xx
We getting married 17/11/17 xx
We are having an Autumn wedding and I can't wait. Hoping for a crisp, frosty day with rustling leaves, fairy lights and a bonfire in the evening. It's a beautiful time of year x
22.11.14 it was perfect, so glad we went for winter and not summer! (I easily get hot and wouldn’t have made pretty pictures lol)
I got married the 22nd of jan
29th December 2018 for me.. cannot wait xx
