We're having a marquee and have narrowed it down to a few companies, based on quotes. We want to decide after they have done a site visit and we have a better understanding of each. Is this normal or should you only expect site visits from a company you have decided on?
The manager from where we got married gave us a list of their approved marquee companies which we had to choose from. We never had a site visit because all the companies we contacted for quotes had all previously provided marquees for the site. We just gave them all the information they needed such as amount of guests, catering info and they were able to give us a price and a list of all available extras we could choose from. They sent us images of the possible layouts etc too
We had a marquee at a private venue, so had to find everything ourselves. We got quotes from a few local companies, and chose one of them, they then did a site visit. I don’t see why others wouldn’t do a site visit, but it all came down to cost for us - they were all providing the same thing. X
We have had one site visit with no obligation and are waiting for another also no obligation. We have gone against any that want money before hand. They should offer that service to be sure you are happy with what they can offer you as they are all so individual
