We have already booked our venue and I've bought my dress. Is it still worth going along to wedding fayres? I see so many people saying they have entered competitions when at them (even though none I've been to have had them)

Wedding fairs are about so much more. Photography and Videography, entertainment, decorations, cake you name it.

I say yes. We managed to get ideas/discounts on invitations, DJ, room decor, harpist, etc... There's so many things to give you ideas about what you would like. We went to quite a few x

Still worth it to gather ideas and contacts for other parts of the wedding

I already had all my own ideas but still went to 2 just for the experience. One with my mum and mother in law at our own wedding venue and another one at another venue with family and bridesmaids just to have a wedding day out and make a day of it with everyone and it was a great day! xx

Depends what you need and what you haven't booked; photographer, decor ideas, invitations, cakes, celebrant, magician, favours, decorations, videographer, DJ, musicians, sweet cart, cars, etc - not to mention ideas & inspiration :)

Please do go ..... I entered competitions & won items .....I chose a beautiful vintage belt ages before I discovered my special skirt & top ..... Enjoy the canapés & free champagne ..... At a couple of fairs I discovered some awesome VIP Free goody bags that I then used as thank you presents to my bridesmaids ..... Always loved days out ..... Warm wishes for your special day ! X

Yes, I've been to a couple since and it's been useful for various bits and bobs. Plus as others say it's a lovely day out and there's prosecco xx

There is never any harm in gathering ideas. I am going to the National Wedding Show in Olympia on Saturday with my daughter and another one more locally the following weekend with my bestie. That is probably as much as I will be able to take but will value the time with both people and we can gather those ideas.

I love wedding fayres there's so much more to sort out besides venue and dress. You can get huge on the day booking discounts for chair covers, decorations, cars, cake, photography etc really worth a look!

I get married next month and haven't been to a wedding fayre yet. I keep thinking this might make me weird however I'm just really not that fussy and have googled a lot of various things to save time x

I'd say go, but personally, I'm avoiding the huge ones, as they are a bit full on.

It depends. If you and your partner like that sort of thing then they're great. If its either of your idea of hell then skip it. Me and my wife loooooved all that stuff, and there's plenty of decorations and accessories and stuff, even if you've got your major stuff sorted!

Yes I would!! I won my mums mother of the bride outfit at a show! Plus you may still get other ideas. Also my cake lady let us down so luckily I'd been to other shows as I met more!

I would say yes. They are usually free, you get inspired...photographers are there, cakes, chair covers etc. Lots to see and no obligation to book anything....and the atmosphere is lovely and all festive and 'weddings' I would go!!
