Mine was £10,000. We set a budget and didn't go over it. That included two dresses (total over £1000 together) as I didn't lose enough weight (yes that old chestnut! ) but I've already made back about £300 selling items we used and once I've sold the unworn dress will be nearer a £1000 back, so around £9,000 total x

Ours is coming in at just under £3000 for 70 people, which includes bridal car, dress, flowers, photographer, food etc but excludes the rings. It is in July next year and we will be praying for good weather as it is being held outdoors (but will have gazebos at the ready). Friends are paying for the photographer.

Ours was just under 5k. Most expensive was my dress. The rest we kept simple and it was the best day. X

Mine was about £600, all included. Would've been cheaper but my dad insisted on us inviting about ten more people than we originally decided on but he offered to pay the difference. Registry office, photos in the adjacent beautiful town hall grounds by a semi professional family friend photographer, starter and carvery for 22 people in a local hotel then had an open invitation for causal drinks in the other hotel where we had stayed the night (gift from parents in law). My mum had a blast doing the table decorations for us. Husband's suit was new, my dress was from eBay and I got the groomsmen and my dad all matching to my dress with the same color ties from eBay. My sister is a trained beautician and did my makeup for me. All arranged within about four weeks as we'd been engaged for two years but then I found out I was pregnant with my eldest and we decided to just get on with it.

If you don't feed people you can do it for cheap as you like. But when you start doing wedding breakfasts and complementary drinks it gets expensive x

I didnt want to spend a fortune on a lavish party that would be over with so quickly, so ours was £500- on Xmas eve. Registry office, followed by Xmas dinner at a local pub/restaurant :) hired a minibus to take us there and back, my dress was ex-display - £40, Hubby's suit matalan- £50, no bridesmaids or groomsmen, just family and our kids, rings on sale from h Samuel, I made my own bouquet and buttonholes, a photographer friend took our pics, I did my own make-up and a hairdresser friend did my hair :) not everyone's cup of tea, but was perfect for us. :)

UKbride Administrator 16 Sep 2017

I reckon ours will be 15,000 including the honeymoon. We set the budget at 10,000, but things are just so expensive. It is just one day but I want it to be special and we don't have any children yet so we can afford it. My dress alone is £1000 before alterations. I couldn't find a cheaper one that I loved

Mine came in at £3800 for the lot. Included Reg office for 20, hotel reception for 36 day and 100 at night, DJ, 3 double rooms, table decs, cake, car ribbon, dress from China, new suit and shirt, tie, braces etc for groom, 1 young bridesmaid, favours, wine on tables (way too much, still drinking it at night), carafes to serve the wine in, rings, 2 week caravan tour of south coast and fuel, makeup and hair done on the day and hair trial and the wedding was on a Saturday and booked it 6 months before. All invitations, thank you cards and cake supports, post box for cards/gifts and guest book and confetti as well as buttonholes for 20 and 2 posys. Photography not included as this was gifted to us. But if you look around on eBay, Amazon etc get ideas and then make it up yourself you can save lots. Guests there during the day said they loved it and were liking it to another family wedding the prev year which cost 43k and thought ours was better. They were so shocked at the actual cost.

£6000 but paid off over 2 years and essentially our dream day getting married beside the sea in Devon where I am from with 65 guests, drinks, dinner, evening hog roast, Dj, Bridesmaids bits, hair and makeup, dress, decorations, Dj and accommodation. Plan in advance and it can be done, do your research and just write down the things you really want, anything else is an added extra it's not about budget it's about your day and what you make of it

Ours came to around £7.5k. This included dress ( veil, shoes, belt), 3 bridesmaid dresses shoes, 3 flower girl dresses shoes, hair, all flowers, a gorgeous village hall, a band for a barn dance, a hog roast for 100 people, 3 tier cake, photographer, alcohol, invitations and all decorations. We asked certain people to bring salad/deserts. The church was free as I grew up there. Some friends had a nice enough car to drive us around. We had cakes and tea and coffee after the ceremony, provided by friends and family. And the grooms family paid for the suit hire. The wedding favours were made by my aunt. Would have been cheaper if I didn't fall in love with a £2k dress
If you want cheap then don't be afraid to ask people for favours and decide what parts are the most important to you. Take time to look for the cheapest option and think about what you remember of other peoples weddings. A lot of the things people stress over are minor details that people don't look twice at xxx

UKbride Administrator
UKbride Administrator 17 Sep 2017

Roughly £250

UKbride Administrator
UKbride Administrator 18 Sep 2017

£2700 for everything, 200 guests to both ceremony and festival reception xxx

UKbride Administrator
UKbride Administrator 19 Sep 2017

I think mine came to less than £1000, my mum surprised me with a car and cake though (even including these it would have only skated around the £1000 mark).
