My photographer is bringing her own lunch

A photographer should lay this out within their terms and conditions. I offered to pay for a meal for ours but he brought a packed lunch and was happy with that x

Mine said he would bring his own food

UKbride Administrator 26 Aug 2017

I'm paying for mine to have one.

UKbride Administrator
UKbride Administrator 26 Aug 2017

Should ask what they would like. We paid for ours x

I would always advise confirming at point of booking. A

Should be in their contract. Ours states a meal must be provided as its a full day package. But it states a bar meal is fine as they dont want to eat with the guests as theyll be busy at the same time

UKbride Administrator
UKbride Administrator 26 Aug 2017

Some photographers expect to be paid for others are happy to fend for themselves. Definitely ask if they are expecting a meal when booking

UKbride Administrator
UKbride Administrator 26 Aug 2017

I would always offer as their photographing your wedding from early morning until late night I know a few sandwiches wouldn't fill me up all that time xx

UKbride Administrator
UKbride Administrator 26 Aug 2017

My guys weren't too bothered either way. They don't want to have a full meal though as they are working and don't wanna be too full. I told my guys to get themselves something from the bar menu downstairs (as that's where they were working whilst we were eating) and they were really grateful. X

My venue is doing an extra plate of the main for £10. Check with your venue or caterers what usually happens :) We also had in the contract for the band that we must feed them, so we just got a bit extra with the buffet they can help themselves.

UKbride Administrator 26 Aug 2017

We did and gave them same food as our guests! They were so grateful as it's a very long day, also we got married in December so warming food was welcome

I'm buying the 2 photographers & the videographer a meal but it's not a 3 course wedding breakfast. I'm also paying for the videographers hotel the night before but again it's not at the venue it's a travel lodge 30 mins away. Personally I think they should buy their own food & hotels. There's not many people out there earning £1000 a day but it's in their contracts.

I did

UKbride Administrator
UKbride Administrator 26 Aug 2017

I paid for a meal for my photographer but not the full meal the guests were getting

UKbride Administrator
UKbride Administrator 26 Aug 2017

I've worked a few weddings, where the photographer didn't have a wedding breakfasts but they had a sandwich or just the main course part. It's not always done but depending on how long they are there I think that shows a little appreciation.

We had a suppliers meal option with our venue which was just a hit main Meal at a small extra cost xxx

UKbride Administrator
UKbride Administrator 26 Aug 2017

We paid for soup and sandwiches and refreshments during the day for our 2 photographers and 2 videographers x

UKbride Administrator
UKbride Administrator 26 Aug 2017

Our photographer didn't ask for one which is why we offered, we were planning on giving a bar meal which the venue offered at a teduced price but as one of our guests dropped out and we had paid for a package that included 80 guests we offered a full meal ..

No - a bar meal or some sandwiches but not a full menu.

Chris Whalley. What we was talking about the other day, paying for meal for photographer xx

UKbride Administrator
UKbride Administrator 26 Aug 2017

Usually a bar meal will suffice

Hannah Stephens
Hannah Stephens 26 Aug 2017

Depends how long you hire them for. If you have them all day they sometimes ask. We're feeding ours cause we want her to feel involved too x

UKbride Administrator
UKbride Administrator 26 Aug 2017

It would depend on how long you have them for. Ours is leaving once we've done the speeches and lock cake cutting before the meal.

UKbride Administrator
UKbride Administrator 26 Aug 2017

Yes I did but he was a friend x

Laura Hallas
Laura Hallas 26 Aug 2017

I offered to my photographer but she insisted not, she brought her own packed lunch and ate that somewhere out of view whilst she uploaded some of the photos from earlier in the day because no one wants their picture taken whilst eating!! Xx

UKbride Administrator
UKbride Administrator 26 Aug 2017

I offered mine a meal, we had a package so couldn't include them in the actual headcount but we offered to pay for a meal for them. They declined though as they brought a pack up and did some editing while we were eating so they could do a slideshow at our evening reception. Just ask them. I know some actually put it in their contracts that you must provide them with food

Emma Gibson
Emma Gibson 26 Aug 2017

I wasn't sure what you did wit this either but I'd plan to offer x

UKbride Administrator
UKbride Administrator 26 Aug 2017

We had ours from 7am till 11 so we had included them but they brought own food for whilst we ate then we made sure they had some of our wood fired pizza in evening x

UKbride Administrator
UKbride Administrator 26 Aug 2017

You should ask your photographer as some require that you do. If they are there all day then they will need food unless they bring their own. It's best to check. Some venues may cater for them but also worth asking as may need to include them in the head count. Our venue is a country house and the photographer is the owner's son. He's told us not to bother as he'll just go into the house and have his tea there.

UKbride Administrator
UKbride Administrator 26 Aug 2017

We included our photographer in our wedding breakfast as it would have been a long day and night for him x

UKbride Administrator
UKbride Administrator 26 Aug 2017

Speak to your venue - our photographers asked us to let them know if they'll be catered for or not. The venue offer £20 deal where they get fed as a vendor.

UKbride Administrator
UKbride Administrator 26 Aug 2017

It dose depend on the photographer. My photographer didn't want a meal as she said she was at work so didn't expect to get fed. But some like to have a meal. Just ask your photographer they will tell you honestly what they want. Xx

UKbride Administrator
UKbride Administrator 26 Aug 2017

My venue offer vendor meals for £15 which just includes the main meal and 1 soft drink x

UKbride Administrator
UKbride Administrator 26 Aug 2017

I would get them a proper meal. They will be on their feet all day, usually from around 9am -8pm or even later with no breaks except the wedding breakfast. It's hard work for them and venues often give them just a sandwich and it's really not enough to keep them going x

UKbride Administrator
UKbride Administrator 26 Aug 2017

We did as was in our contract. We would have anyway. I would ask. They normally tell you

Julia Sweetman
Julia Sweetman 26 Aug 2017

My venue said I can include them as a guest or offer them a separate meal as it's slightly cheaper but our photographer we know so we haven't decided yet. Ask your venue. X

UKbride Administrator
UKbride Administrator 26 Aug 2017

We have offered the photographer a meal because we want him photograph the food too

UKbride Administrator
UKbride Administrator 26 Aug 2017

We just told our photographers and videograohers to grab some food from the bar and put it on our tab x

UKbride Administrator
UKbride Administrator 26 Aug 2017

We did. She was a friend and we had paid for her to come from France!

UKbride Administrator
UKbride Administrator 26 Aug 2017

We are paying for ours but she's a friend aswell so will be staying to enjoy the celebrations once she finishes xxxx

Bobbi-lee Taylor Kerry Lauren

UKbride Administrator
UKbride Administrator 26 Aug 2017

I've offered my photographer and videographer a meal. Our venue doesn't charge the same for guests as they do for photographers/videographers to eat because they don't require service

UKbride Administrator
UKbride Administrator 26 Aug 2017

My photographer had photographed at the venue many times and he told me that they look after him well and feed him.

Mia Taylor
Mia Taylor 26 Aug 2017

It should say in the contract. It did in mine and I ticked yes I will provide them with a meal. As they will be on their feet all day and will have no breaks.

So I think it's only fair. X but at the end of the day it's up to you xx

UKbride Administrator
UKbride Administrator 26 Aug 2017

We paid for sandwich/buffet platter for our suppliers who were there on the day. They enjoyed it x

UKbride Administrator
UKbride Administrator 26 Aug 2017

My venue said they eat at bar and i can set a budget. So if they go over £30 each they pay the rest

UKbride Administrator
UKbride Administrator 26 Aug 2017

If they're staying all day then yes you do. They don't tend to eat with everyone else (i.e. don't include them in table planning) but they will need feeding!

UKbride Administrator
UKbride Administrator 26 Aug 2017

We told ours they could get anything from the bar menu in the hotel, sandwiches or hot food and the hotel would add the cost to our final bill. We weren't charged anything so I assume none of them bothered x

UKbride Administrator
UKbride Administrator 26 Aug 2017

Most venues will do a main meal for them at a reduced cost x

UKbride Administrator
UKbride Administrator 26 Aug 2017

We have offered ours a meal which he was greatful for but said he takes his own sandwiches as their easier for him with time etc as they go through pics etc while they eat xx

UKbride Administrator
UKbride Administrator 26 Aug 2017

Our venue has said people have done various things. Sometimes included them in the catering head count. Others have had photographers order a bar meal and charge it to the bridal suite/paid for it. Other photographers have brought own food

UKbride Administrator
UKbride Administrator 26 Aug 2017

Our venue paid our photographers day meal and we told him to help himself on the night as he was with us for 12 hours and we seated him at a table too which he loved x

UKbride Administrator
UKbride Administrator 26 Aug 2017

I was offered a cheaper staff/ contractor meal by the hotel. So we paid for that for the photographer in addition to meals for guests.

UKbride Administrator
UKbride Administrator 26 Aug 2017

I am but my uncle is doing our photos and is also a guest. My cousin bought soup and sandwiches for her photographers

UKbride Administrator
UKbride Administrator 26 Aug 2017

My venue does food for photographers etc for £17 but my magician has said he brings his own so just check contracts or ask x

UKbride Administrator
UKbride Administrator 26 Aug 2017

We did but there was a subsidised rate where we got married for people who would be working. He did so well and was so appreciative, it meant that he was able to stay longer x

UKbride Administrator
UKbride Administrator 26 Aug 2017

I've included mine in all the food being offered and have seated her with some friends. She will be there all day and I want to to feel comfortable and welcome. It's not like she will have anything to do while people are eating anyway x

UKbride Administrator
UKbride Administrator 26 Aug 2017

I asked my photographer if he'd like a meal... he politely declined as my venue was apparently close to a lovely indian he doesnt get to visit often we kept him in drinks tho (even 1 alcoholic one!) X

UKbride Administrator
UKbride Administrator 26 Aug 2017

Yes I had to include my photographer and videographer in my meals during the day x plus evening buffet had to include them and band haha x

UKbride Administrator
UKbride Administrator 26 Aug 2017

I have given them an amount they can spend on the day and they will choose something off the normal venue menu- but that's because my venue is attached to another restaurant.

UKbride Administrator
UKbride Administrator 26 Aug 2017

I paid for mine but my photographer was my sister... And didn't use a videographer x

UKbride Administrator
UKbride Administrator 26 Aug 2017

We included ours probably need to if you want them on top form. He was great!

UKbride Administrator
UKbride Administrator 26 Aug 2017

Some have it in their contract. Our videographers had in their contract that they expected a meal if working over 4 hours but our photographer brought a packed lunch. We provided food for them anyway xxx

UKbride Administrator
UKbride Administrator 27 Aug 2017

Usually states either way in your contract with photographer

UKbride Administrator
UKbride Administrator 27 Aug 2017

We did, we even gave them the wedding breakfast but got them to sit in another location of the hotel so they could have a break. They were with us 12 hrs and were really cheap and did such an amazing job. They were fantastic x

UKbride Administrator
UKbride Administrator 27 Aug 2017

Many venues offer a supplier meal. Many couples will provide their photographer, coordinator, videographer etc a meal out of courtesy and the fact that they are helping to capture your perfect day. No food = empty belly!

UKbride Administrator
UKbride Administrator 27 Aug 2017

I paid for my 2 photographers and 2 videographers to have their own meal at the restaurant in our venue xxx

Amy Taylor
Amy Taylor 28 Aug 2017

I hadn't even thought of this, I doubt your photographer would expect it but it's a lovely thing to do.
