Hair and makeup... They'll be me and three others for hair and makeup the morning of my wedding. I've found a lovely lady who does both hair and makeup and i know i don't have a massive group to get ready, but just worried on timescales? Has anyone else just used one stylist for their day or typically had one hair stylist and then one MUA? My ceremony is at 1pm.

Hi I haven't given this a thought yet :)

She would probably start about 8am maybe earlier to make sure she got everyone done it time. If you've already had a trial or have told her what you want I'm guessing she would have made a note of how long each one would
Take to do x

I had one lady for hair who turned up at 7 and a make up lady who turned up at 8 for a 1.30 ceremony for 4 make up and 5 hair. We had an hour at the end for final hair spraying and chill time which you'll want. This was with two people though

I had the same lady do both hair and makeup for me, my two bridesmaids and my mum. She arrived about 830 and had finished us all by 1315. I got married at 2. She also did my sisters wedding with one extra bridesmaid.

My ceremony was at 10 and she did 2 lots of make up and 4 lots of hair (plus a plait on my niece). She started at 5am and had time leftover at the end

I'm getting married at 2. There's 4 of us getting our hair and make up done by the same women. She asked what time I wanted to leave the salon which I said 11.30 as photographer is coming at 12. So we have to be there at 7am x

We had 8 of us who needed to be ready for a 12pm service. Our hair and makeup started at 6am. I imagine she will bring a team along with her

I was going to start at 9.30am for a 12pm wedding is this too short time frame?

I had mine separate which worked out great - whilst I was getting my hair done, my bm was getting her makeup done etc and meant no one was hanging round! We had time afterwards for a drink and some photos so it was nice and chilled! You don't want to be rushing round on your wedding day so I'd consider getting one person for hair and one for makeup xx

I got married at 1pm and a make up artist and hairdresser came to the house for about 8am. They did mine, my mum's and three bridesmaids' hair and make up and they'd finished by about 11 x

There was 6 of us to get ready and only one of each MUA and stylist. We were all ready in plenty of time to leave at 11.15 for our 12pm start. Just let the people you've hired know and they will work timings out x

I used one stylist for me and 2 bridemaids to do hair and makeup and she started at 9.30am and was done for around 12.30pm and we was getting married at 1.45pm. If you are unsure ask your stylist what time she suggests she turns up.

Makeup is usually a 30 min appointment, so that's 2 hours.. and then depending on how long your hair will take - say 1 hour (per person) to over compensate.. 4 hours. So I would budget for maybe 6 hours? But I like to be safe and over-compensate for time, plus this gives time for your hair to settle and an extra hair spray etc if needed x

My wedding was at 2 and we started at 9am. There was only 2 to get hair done and 3 for make up. Took roughly 4 hours

There was 8 of us and we had 1 of each. We started at 6.30am and we're ready for 11 with no rushing. We only started so early as both were guests at the wedding too and had to also get themselves ready. Just tell them what you need and they will work out timings etc xx

The lady I spoke to on the phone worked out all the timings for me. I'm using a hair dressing salon who are coming to us so may not just be one person x

I had me two bridesmaids and my mum we had a make up artist and two hairdressers my wedding was 1.30 I was still late I'd have at least one for make up one for hair my ladies came at 7 in the morning and my hair had been curly blowed and pin curled day before to xx

It also depends on whether you're having one or multiple MUA/Hairdressers. If you're having more than one, 2 people could be worked on at the same time so that would reduce the time needed.

I had myself, 2 bridesmaid and a flower girl for hair and make up with the same lady. I got married at 2pm and we started at 8.30. Took an hour and a half for me and 45 minutes for each bridesmaid x

I'm a hair dresser and MUA, if you had one person doing all of you, it would be a very early start! You'd probably need at least 6 hours so she didn't feel like she was rushing either. If she's happy and your happy to start at 7 am then that's fine, if not use her for one and someone else for another 🙂

My glam squad consists of one MUA and one hair dresser, they are starting at 7am to get 5 of us ready for a 2pm ceremony, hope that helps x

id say give 45mins each for hair and make up and then an hour for yourself for each..thats roughly what my hair and make up ladies have done. they should give you a timeline based on on how long they'll need.. for example my hair stylist has allocated 2 hours for my hair but 45 for my bridesmaids because my hair style is quite intricate. it really depends on what you're having but an hour for each should be a good average to work with :)

I'm going to hairdressers at 9 for me and mum to get our hair done (cars not picking us up till quarter to 2) doing my make up myself as I don't like the way make up artists cake it on.. and I'm leaving the bridesmaids to do whatever they feel like

I get married in 2 weeks our hair dresser is coming at 7am and make up at 8am! There are 5 of us getting ready in total and ceremony is at 1:30. My make up artist pointed out that you would need everyone done by 12 at the latest so everyone can get changed etc (which I hadn't thought about until my trial!) x x

I had two hair dressers and one mua for my bridal party. We started at 8am with the mua doing mother of groom while 1 hairdresser did mother of bride, 2nd hair dresser started on junior bridesmaid, the mums swapped over, then 2nd hair dresser did the bridesmaids. As each bridesmaid was finished with hairdresser they then went and had makeup....i went last with mua and hairdresser. One of my bridesmaids was my hairdresser so she then had her hair done by the other hairdresser. I got married at 2pm and we were only just ready on time. I think if you have more than 3 people who need make up and hair then you'll probably need a separate hairdresser and mua. It takes around an hour each for hair, and another hour each for makeup. Xx

I had a hairstylist for three adult bridesmaids two 'mums' one child bridesmaid and me and she only did hair and she came at 6:30 for my wedding starting at 2pm- however the bridesmaids did set off an hour before me so they had to be ready for then- and obv my hair was ready well before I needed to leave :)
