People focus on evening entertainment by which time most of the day is over. Having engaging, interactive daytime entertainment has huge impact & get's your day off to a high energy, fun start.
Do have assigned tables even if table seating is unassigned. Don't put all the stragglers on one table. Put older folks where they can hear the speeches / reach the bathroom easily.
Large flower displays in the centre of a table cut the table in two as people won't be able to engage with folks on the opposite side.
