As we all know, all too well, what we want and what we can afford are two very different things. Budgets come into play, especially as the planning for a wedding unfolds. For the bride, the dress can hold a higher place on the list of spending priorities, and setting a realistic budget for the wedding gown depends on several budgeting factors, like who's paying for what, for instance. So those who don't know, I have had issues getting to my dress fitting, then finally making it but had a horrible dress fitting experience. I originally had my mind set on M0r! L33, then that soon I changed my mind due to the their price, now I am in love with ********! The gowns are beautiful and expensive. I am new to this so my budget had to be adjusted a few times in order to get the dress that I want. I now have a budget of £3000...Is that crazy?

Morning Elizabeth I don't really have a big budget so my dress is going to be no more than £500 but like you say everyone has different budget sizes and wanna spend that budget on different things. If its a dress you love then that's great you wanna look lovely and feel special on your special day.
CommentAuthorEmily17
To me that is a waste of money, I budgeted £500 but spent less than that. I just don't see the point in splashing out that much on a dress that I will only wear once. That is my personal opinion only.
If you want to spend that and can afford it then its entirely up to you. Its a case of looking at the overall wedding budget and weighing up what's important.

With a £3K budget you open yourself up to getting many items and if you are choosing an inexpensive site then I think you are being way over generous with that budget anyhoo. You could get a dress from a store for that and still have money left over.
I watched a programme in which a lady had a large budget, she had seen one dress which was very very expensive, then tried on another dress which happened to be mine and was overwhelmed with it. Mine was £1500. It's not all about the amount.
You changed your mind from M0r1 l33 because of the price but now have a budget of £3000? All of the M0r1 l33 dresses I have seen are way under that price mark... mine is a M0r1 l33 and £1250 which was one of the ones on the higher end of the scale.
If money was no object whatsoever then I would have loved a N@om1 N3oh dress, but they do start at about £3000 which in my opinion is a little bit ridiculous just for one day. M0r1 l33 dresses are beautiful though and I still feel like an absolute princess in mine.

I didn't really have a budget and would have spent whatever it took to get the dress I wanted. Just so happened that the dress I fell in love with was being sold second hand for £600 instead of paying for it brand new for £1250. I would have paid the £1250 if I didn't find it second hand though. Some other dresses (e.g. J3nny P@ckh@am) start above £2000 and they're beautiful and well worth the money, so it depends what you want and what you want to prioritise in your budget.

I've budgted £1500 max for my dress and have found a M0r1 l££ one I am in love with, but can't find out how much. If you can afford £3k for a dress you're very lucky, but agree with Flossie that they are usually under that too.

I didn't have a set budget but was aware that I couldn't go extreme. I never looked at prices in the bridal shops and In the end got my dress from an outlet for £600. X

Is this even a genuine post? I mean it originally included a link and as several others have said, M0ri L33 is WAY under £3k, so dunno why you'd change your mind on price.

I have a budget of £1000 which I feel is more than enough but have a clue where to look online, I've seen a few Justin Alexander ones that I like but don't really know what style tbh. Trial n error I suppose lol xx

I don't get it? Are you asking if £3000 is enough for a dress? Some people don't even spend 3K on there whole wedding! I get that evey one has different budgets but that is a very lots of money to spend on you dress. You should be able to get what ever dress you want with 3k. or was it a typo and you meant £300? X

Do you mean your whole budget is 3k or just for a dress? Def an oddly worded post to me......
