    Hi everyone.
So I'm getting married in August 2016 but ordered my dress last week. At the time I wasn't looking I just found this dress by chance and have to say it's like nothing I thought I'd have but it did seem special on. Anyway a week later and I've been looking at the dress constantly online and whilst the pictures do not do it justice I'm worried I've made an impulsive decision. Has anyone experienced anything similar. Thanks in advance

Yep, I did. I purchased mine without even trying it on, just by pictures in the magazines and online. I kept looking at it thinking the same, but when it came into the shop I fell in love again and knew it was the right choice.

It's such a huge commitment so it's something you need to be sure about..... Perhaps go and try it on again and see if you get that special feeling again. Which dress is it? I fell in love with my dress as soon as it was on and I sometimes think have I made the wrong choice but as soon as I open the bag, those feelings come flooding back x

I bought my dress yesterday I didn't think I was going to find the dress but it's exactly what I wanted and I tried it in twice in the shop added accessories and shoes and I no it's the one, my advice to you delete the pic and when you try it on again you have the same feeling all over again, I didn't take any pics for that reason and was my bridesmaid who suggested it and she was given the same advice but still took a pic and obsessed over it so she deleted it xx

its so hard to know isn't it with so many amazing dresses around and with the excitement of trying them on..... I thought I had found the one , I was obsessed by it . but I knew there was no rush and knew it wasn't going anywhere as such , so held off that day ordering it... I left it a week and went back and tried it on and I loved it and felt it was def the one , I told the lady I wanted it , by time I had got to car 1% of me suddenly wasn't sure whether I should get it £1500 is a lot of money, there was a little voice saying but is that really the look I want.. so I decided not to order it yet.. went a diff shop a week later just to see how I feel and fell in love with a totally different style of dress and knew 100% that it was the one.. I ordered it and have never doubted it since.. so I would say go back and try it on and if you walk away and never doubt it then its the one.. :) good luck x

My Sister had a wobble about 2 months before her wedding because she'd changed her mind about the dress she'd chosen about a year before her wedding. My Mum talked her out of it but, even though her dress was beautiful, she says that she regrets the choice she made. She was full of advice when I chose mine (to the point of being bossy and upsetting me) because she 'didn't want me to make the same mistake'. I actually went and had a re-try of a dress I really liked, tried some others and chose something completely different.

Go back and try it again, and maybe try some others. You'll know if it's definitely the one.

    Good luck x

Thank you for all the responses. Managed to put the order on hold yesterday so have a bit of time to be absolutely sure!

I made an impulse decision when my OH and I were talking about getting married and hadn't actually gotten engaged. The story goes I was in a wedding dress shop with my friend (also now a bridesmaid) looking for dresses for a charity ball when, somehow, I ended up trying on a wedding dress with a red bodice and ivory skirt. I fell in love with it and decided in impulse to put down a deposit as it was only £250 and an X-sample which was about to go where dresses go that never sell. Anyway, fast forward a year and a half, we were engaged and bridesmaids and I went to see my dress. I was not happy with it. In fact I really didn't like it anymore. I put on a false smile and they all said it looked lovely (I found out later they fibbed a little because they didn't want to upset me) and I went home and spent 2 months stressing myself to the point I got ill with how much I didn't like it. My OH finally broke that habit when I had a cry and admitted I hated the dress. His response? Go find another.

Because I am not buying my new dress from the original sellar I can't do anything about getting a refund or transfer of funds to another dress so I have to take it which I now plan to donate to a charity for people with terminal illness wanting to get married.
