Starting to get some stuff down for our wedding and one thing is currently we are getting married in cathedral at 2pm and then at reception we finish day/night at midnight. They have given us option to extend until 1am but not sure if this is too long?
What times are you having or had?

Ours is on until 12.45 but we werent given the option, the band finish playing at midnight with dj set afterwards. We are also getting married at 2pm.
My friends wedding finished at 12.30 and i thought it was late enough.

Ours started at 3pm with the ceremony. I must admit by midnight we'd all had enough and ready for bed. That might have been due to the fact we spent most the night on the dance floor.

CommentAuthorWelshBrideBethan2015
See I'm thinking midnight is enough as literally over the road is wind St known as wine St so you can guess what that's like lol so party animals can carry on there and at our hotel where we are staying over night our families have basically booked up all rooms and apartments so could carry on there too but on smaller scale lol x

I would of had to pay extra if I wanted an extension. To be honest it was not worth it, specially as most had had enough by midnight.n

Every wedding I've been to has always started rounding up by 11.30/12 so I wouldn't worry about the extra hour :) x

were wrapping up at 1am but this is purely because 1 we don't have to pay for an extended licence and 2 its nye so were counting on people wanting to carry on partying past midnight. were having the ceremony at 3 wedding breakfast at 5.30 and buffet at 9.30 to help people keep going through the night.

I think for ours at the time it was something like another £150 for the extra hour.

We finished at midnight and by then I was more than exhausted. Some of our guests, all hubby's friends, I understand kept going in the bar though until 5am!

Ours is finishing at midnight but the bar will remain open for all guests who are staying the night for as long as needed/wanted! I think the music has to be off at 12 but because we are paying for exclusive use I don't think this rule applies for us (they are no other guests to disturb). I think 12 is more than long enough and wouldn't worry about extending it, especially if you have to pay extra for the privilege xx

We've extended ours until 1am, bar closes at half 12 and kickout at 1 purely so that when everyone starts to drizzle out we can sit with the few people who are staying at the hotel with us and have some drinks and unwind a little, hopefully with some cake :D

We're getting married at 1pm and kick out time at our venue is 11pm. Everyone has to be offsite by 11.45pm

It really depends on the people you have coming, age wise/size of party e.t.c all my friends are party people and so wanted a venue with no time limit music restrictions, so we found somewhere we can party til next day if want. Most places stop at 12, which Is pretty early for such a special once in a lifetime party ! ... and all of the weddings I have been to where its been 12 , everyone has wanted it to continue a bit longer, .. so I would say go for it, have it til 1am, you only have your wedding reception once, and it doesn't mean you have to be there until then :)
Soooooo excited to be marrying my Best Friend !!

Ours stops at midnight but I'd be happy to go until 1 if we didn't have to pay ha! The main bar will be open for a bit longer though for hotel guests, just can't remember the time it stops. I went to town after my sister weddings, although I was 18 then lol.

Ours finishes at midnight and we're getting married at 1PM so will be a long day. We then have to travel from venue to our hotel so won't be in bed straight away but I'm sure we'll both be shattered by then.
CommentAuthorTeresa
I'm glad mine is all in one place so I don't have to travel, the day is busy enough as it is!

umm.. i think 11 pm is enough. no more! i'll getting tired, my make up going bad, and no more fun there!

We had the option of ceremony starting at 5pm and going on with reception until 2am or ceremony at 4pm and finishing at 1am. We chose the 4pm ceremony and I am pretty sure by midnight everyone will have had enough, We have a coach picking people up so they cant leave till I am ready haha x
CommentAuthorGlitterfairy
All of my guests were dancing all night long so by midnight most were ready to go home, the odd few would have carried on. Personally it was nice going upstairs as we stayed at the venue and having a shower and curling up in bed without being overly tired

A lot of our guests wanted to carry on dancing until 1am, even the DJ said it was a fab evening with the dance floor filled all night and he'd have happily carried on but the venue have to stop the party at midnight. TBH I was relieved to get to the room we had at the venue, get out of my dress and sleep.

They'll always be guests who will want to keep going all night. One couple went into town to go clubbing afterwards, others as I said in an earlier post stayed up at the bar pretty much all night (all of hubby's mates).
