    Hi all,

Just wondered if any one else has had a similar situation.

I was discussing with my Nan about the wedding, and that we'll probably have to postpone till 2018, due to finances and trying to get on the property ladder (I've posted about this elsewhere). We got onto the subject of my wedding dress and she kindly said she would pay for it. I was so surprised and grateful I said thank you and left it at that. My Nan has been through a lot this last year.

On our way home, my mum (who was with us) mentioned that I didn't say anything to my Nan about my mum offering to pay for my dress. I am mortified with myself, and feel I may have hurt my mums feelings.

Would it be wrong to ask them to split the price of a dress, so that they both have input to the most important dress I'll ever wear, or is there something else I could ask my mum to do, I was thinking, my wedding Jewellery, as its something I would and want to wear again and again, so will mean a lot to me.

    thanks in advance.
    Emma

its entirely up to you if you ask them to split the cost i see nothing wrong with that. If your mam wants to buy dress alone tho id be asking your nan to pay for jewlery accessories shoes etc. Your mam may want the biggest/full input into the most important part of tour atire :-)

Just raise the subject with them both and see what you can come up with

Me and my dad split the price of dress and they also paid for my jewlery in debs sale but i got my shoes from bayE (they were 12 quid lol)

I'd talk to ur mum and see if she's happy to split the payment or if she wants to pay for whole thing or could explain to your nan that ur mums paying and would she like to contribute to something else? X

Ahh I'm sure if you talk to your Mum she will understand. You probably have so much going on in your mind its quite easy to forget things. I would just be honest with your mum and ask he what she would prefer you to do. Hope you can get it resolved.

I like the idea of they splitting the dress costs. The idea of the jewelry is good, however, for a mum, probably nothing is more important than the wedding dress :/

I think if it was me I would let my mum go ahead and buy the dress for me and ask my nan if she would be happy paying for something else. My mum has offered to pay for my dress and I know she would feel really let down and a bit "pushed aside" if I said someone else could pay for it/split the costs with someone else x
