Hi ladies. Just wondering how soon in advance you all booked appointments to go and try on wedding dresses? I am thinking of starting to look/try in June.. Should I be making appointments now? I appreciate certain days (like Saturdays) are going to be busier than others but can also do weekdays as it's relatively easy to book the time off work and my mum works from home so organises her own workload accordingly.. xx

I made my first app with a bridal boutique locally and I needed an app to make sure my sister could be there, they do one late night I got the first available and that's the 19th May, so I would say get in and get booking now to guarantee the day you want xx

Hey hun, all the ones i rang could pretty much fit me in either that week if was weekday, or within 2/3 weeks if wanted a Saturday. A few times i rang up on the day and said could I pop in later and they said yes and gave me a time when they had a hour free. This was November though so may find more busier spring/summer . OOOOh how exciting dress shopping.. :) xx

Ahh I didn't even think about evenings as well.. to be honest I am really flexible so shouldn't be too tricky trying to get appointments then x
Give some of them a call and see what they list is like. Some shops might be busy so you'd have to book up early.

I didn't make any appointments!
I wouldn't worry about getting squeezed in for now though, June is still three months away so you'll pretty much get whenever you want :) x

so exciting going to look at dresses !! the problem I had was that I fell in love with a few different dresses, different styles and all in different shops that were in different towns too.. so it meant I couldn't try them on at same place and work out how they compared.. if you know what I mean. so if you can , just choose shops that are near each other or in same town even ! ha.. at least then if have same problem you may be able to run from one to the other and see which is best.. ha.. :)

I booked my appointments a few weeks before, bought my dress 13 months ago. It took 2 months to find/decide.
Tip: don't go to too many places, you'll confuse yourself. Do your research and check their websites for pictures of what they stock. Try on different styles (more to rule them out, I very quickly found what I didn't like, which helped me narrow it down to which style I wanted)
Good luck and most importantly have fun!

Thanks for the comments ladies! And thank you Owl, what a lovely thing to say
I've always had June in my head to start trying on, so sticking with June :) see how much more weight I can lose before then as well! I've deliberately not really looked at many pics of dresses as I know as soon as I try them on it's going to be completely different.. I don't want to set my heart on something and then find it doesn't actually suit me. So I'm a blank canvas and will certainly try on lots of different styles! There are a few "must try" designers I want to try, but several of them will be stocked in the same shop anyway. I reckon I would only need to go to about 2 or 3. Thanks for the tip Leasa xx

I'm excited for youuu! Don't forget if you're wanting to look out of town not to go too far as you'll have to go back a few times for fittings (and see if there's anywhere you don't have to pay to park! I got caught out with that one haha) x

I actually bought my dress back in July last year - it then arrived 4 weeks ago and its being stored at my parents house! It was purely for me to just get an 'idea' 5 dresses later Id found the '1' havent looked at any other dresses since ! xx

my dress has been in for almost 6 months already, and was ordered a year before that. I had booked my appointments about 2-3 weeks in advance xx
