We are having a very small registry office wedding beginning of September and would love to do something different after the ceremony. We had thought of going to the races on a vintage bus (which is available locally) but there are no events taking place in our area. So now it looks like its back to having a meal somewhere.....Any ideas?? We are just north of Lincoln x Thanks

We like motorsport, eating out etc.......the races would have been ideal......its so frustrating as there are no races on the day of our wedding. We have both been married before so its just going to be a nice low key affair......

How about hiring a gazebo and putting on a bbq or something? Low key but still something different x

Why not set up your own. I'm sure you can get computer game versions. Some guests could be racing then have play bets pug on by the other guests. Similar to the pretend casinos you can have?

Have you tried searching whats on in your area on the Internet you may find something that way

What is the date of your wedding? Southwell (near Newark) have racing on 2nd Sept (thats a Wednesday) and Doncaster have the St Ledger from the 9-12th. I'm assuming the racecourse you checked is Market Rasen.
I'll have another think as I'm originally from the Lincoln area. Greyhound racing maybe? X

Cornwall Air Ambulance is quite often having race nights in local pubs by us to help raise money they do all sorts horse racing dog racing pig racing, they just show all the races on a projector screen and the ones I have been too have been a good giggle, maybe try to get in touch with some charities around your area who do the same sort of thing, you can have your own private race night and help a good cause at the same time!!!
